[The professor cocks a brow, watching as Dr. Flug attempts to piece his life together live on camera.]
When you are solving a puzzle, you need all of the pieces. If I have my pieces, and you have yours... if we only kept to what we had, we would never solve the puzzle. And if we merely attempted to create our own pieces to make up for what we were lacking, it wouldn't be the original solution, now would it?

... I. Suppose that makes sense... [He'll need a few days to process that with his ego.] But sometimes, is it not its own reward to make your own solutions?? Something different, pieced together by what you've made??

[He adjusts the hat on his head before crossing his arms in front of his chest.] Just because I have flour, egg, and sugar, does not mean that I have a cake. With those ingredients I could easily make a sweet bread, or perhaps a very strange omelette, but without a recipe or other ingredients I would be very much cakeless. And wouldn't you like to have your cake and eat it, too?

I thought the saying was precisely that you can't do that, Professor. But you've made your point for now. I do think theres value in discussions like this with my fellow scientific peers. At the end of the day, however, sometimes the only thing you can judge yourself on is what you've earned with your own merits!

What of the Pokédex entry, Doctor? Or shall I read it out for you?
