[ Oh? Is someone trapped in the well? Shinobu looks down the well before seeing the little creature, reaching out and taking it in her hands before it could fall all the way back down to the ground. Poor thing. She holds it in her arms and searches her pack for something to give it. ]

[ It's the faint yelling that makes her perk up from where she's feeding the little insect a potion, looking back down the well and calling down. ]

Hello? Are you in trouble? I can help!

[As remiss as he is to bother anyone for help, he's a little desperate at this point. The boy clambers up the ladder, panting between strings of words.]

Oh, please. That would be appreciated. I'm looking for a little -- oh, Tinker Bell! Oh, thank you --

[And it's moments after he spots the Pokemon that he realizes exactly who is holding her. It's bizarre and incongruous in this particular world to come across one another, but Senjuro would recognize the Hashira on sight.

Immediately, he grows more flustered, dropping down and bowing low.]

I -- I apologize. My incompetence isn't -- should not be your burden.

[This is absolutely humiliating.]

Oh my! [ That hair, those eyes, Shinobu's eyes widen. This is Kyoujurou's little brother, it is so easy to see. Still so proper, so sweet, so far away from home. She smiles, sadly, before she kneeling down, putting her hand on the boys shoulder. ] Please, do not bow to me. [ It's the least she could do for Kyoujurou. This small boy... Oh, her heart aches for her family, for Kyoujurou too. ]

Senjurou-kun, correct? Is this sweet creature yours?

[Uncomfortable though it may be to avoid deferring entirely to her, Senjuro respects her wishes and straightens up a little. At least enough to look over Tink, who is happily resting in Shinobu's hand and enjoying tiny sips of the potion.]

Yes, ma'am. She's... She tends to wander off, but she gets very tired quickly, you see, so I try to keep an eye on her... I just got a bit turned around down there. Thank you for looking after her. I'm very sorry to trouble you.

It's no trouble, Senjurou-kun. I can tell you're taking very good care of her. [ Kneeling down has her just shorter than Senjurou stands. Shinobu doesn't move to change this, smiling at the boy and knowing how nervous he must be. She had heard of how the elder Rengoku treated his sons. She doesn't want this boy to be scared of her. ]

How long have you been here? You look so established! Your brother would be proud!

[The gesture is appreciated, if unnecessary. Not that he would ever dream of voicing that opinion; it would be horribly rude, when all she's doing is being kind.

It takes him a moment to respond, as a series of pained expressions cross his face. Surely she understands that he doesn't hear that sentiment much, if ever. Still, it stings, somehow. His voice softens even further when he does speak.]

Thank you. I arrived this past autumn. I haven't done much, though... Mostly hid from the snow and helped look after some baby Pokemon.

Someone like you can do so much more. They have a league for all the strongest trainers. I bet you could conquer that easily.

Why would I want to conquer anything? What more is there for me to do? [ An honest, curious question. ]

Nurturing life is much harder than destroying. While you say you've done little, this creature here would not survive long in the wild. You've saved her, Senjurou-kun.

[The boy takes in her words silently, finding nothing to dispute in the end. Tink seems to drive the point home, giving Shinobu a grateful hum before fluttering back to her usual perch between locks of Senjuro's hair.]

I do my best. It's... very peaceful here, compared to home. There are no demons. Not even many bad people. Even the animals are often friendly...

Oh -- who is your partner? Have any other Pokemon joined you?

Oh! Yes! [ Shinobu claps her hands together, before looking around her. Where's Ume run off to? Shinobu rarely cares about putting these little creatures in the "pokeballs" they've been supplied with, so her scyther should be around here somewhere... Shinobu looks side to side before up, and smiling when she sees that her green friend has climbed a tree. ]

There she is-- Ume-chan! [ The scyther's head perks up, and towards the pair. ]

[His gaze follows Shinobu's to the branches, and he peers in earnest at the creature for a moment.]

Oh! I've never seen one like her...

Hello, Ume-chan! It's nice to meet you!

[Tink also makes the effort to buzz a few inches up off of Senjuro's head before fluttering back down. It's only polite!]

[ The scyther descends towards Shinobu, the buzzing of her wings loud and dissonant. When Ume lands, she comes to stand beside Shinobu, who pets her snout happily. ] She's very sweet, though her blades are very sharp.
