Lavender Town!!
[A literal list. In his hand. He's actually reading it when he steps out of the pokemart, his Umbreon at his heels.]
Okay, we need... [Hold on. Is he going crazy? Or did he just hear - ?] Hunk?
[That. Can't be. That cannot be Hunk over in those bushes, right? It's been way too long, or it's a weird weekend or something. But it looks just like him. Like the last time he'd seen him. Though, on the other hand, Shiro probably looks... a bit different these days. Right down to the white shock of hair dyed in a Lion-Themed rainbow.]

[The pause lingers and finally Hunk just says-] Yeah, okay.
[There's a number of unanswered questions he's just accepted that he doesn't even want to ask, at least at this particular moment.]
Do you got a minute? I think I scared this little guy. And I still have no idea what I'm doing still. I didn't mean to. [Well, okay, he'll say one thing.] Nice hair, by the way.

[Chores abandoned, Shiro is actually smiling. He looks elated to see his teammate here. And, well. Maybe a "decade" off duty isn't too far off for how long he's been in this world. He crosses over to the bushes in a few quick steps, like he's worried he's going to blink and lose sight of Hunk altogether.]
Yes, of course. I - how long have you been here? When did you get here? [His Umbreon looks between them for a moment, before darting into the bushes herself. Maybe she can coax the Geodude out while the humans stand there.]
It's okay, some of them are skittish no matter what you do. They - ["Nice hair"] - Ah, thanks. Lance's idea.

[It's not as if Shiro was really any kind of outsider to them. But he was enough of an authority figure that the 'seeing a teacher on their day off' vibe is strong. Not that it's bad! It's great to see him. Wonderful. No way does he want to be stuck here alone! Just, you know... It'll take some getting used to.]
[At least having a mission, however tiny, does help.] Jeeze. Um, to be honest it was about two weeks ago. I've done a lot of walking. Pretty sure I'm going to need to buy new feet soon. [As he's talking he watches the Umbreon dart off, and just remains seated on the ground with all the elegance of a bear at a picnic.] I probably should have thought of that.
[He doesn't always use his Nidoran for the things he should.]

[Which is probably going to need more explanation, too. A lot more explanation. Since it's been so long for them. Probably only ... well. Two weeks. For Hunk.] I can explain once we get this taken care of for you. Is the little guy yours?
[He'll just let Hunk have a seat. If he's been hiking that long, it's the least he can do. Especially while Nebula - his Umbreon - goes to sniff out the Geodude.]

Anywaya, yup. Name is Charlie. Pretty skittish. Doesn't seem aggressive. [So that's the sitrep.]
I mean, even if I can't get him out, I don't want to lose track of him. The rescuers were really worried.

Yeah, Geodudes don't have legs. There's actually a lot of pokemon that don't have legs. Or arms, some of them. They're really varied.
[He crouches down on his heels, peering into the brush. Nebula's pulsing yellow circles visible in the greenery. She's busily sniffing after the missing Geodude, trilling gently as she can.]
His name's Charlie, Nebula. [An answering yip.] She's on it. If nothing else, she can get through the bushes better than we can.

[Hunk does his best with the types! It just takes a while to get the hang of a whole new lifestyle and swallow great swathes of information. Like every evolution of a pokemon. Though, fully against his credit, he should have learned that one early.]
She is a lot smaller. Especially compared to me. [And underneath the porch over there which Hunk is very sure he can't fit under. Even if he were to lose all his girth at once he still has his dad's shoulders.]
I'm glad you showed up. You've always been really good about getting situations under control.

[He's teasing a bit, but it's true. Hunk there are sentient ice creams and trash bags here. It's insane sometimes. You get used to it, but it's insane. He wouldn't blame anyone for needing time to adjust and understand this place.]
She used to be even smaller, if you can believe that. [It's okay, Hunk, Shiro's pretty sure he can't fit under a porch either.] Fit in my hands, when I got her.
[A tiny little Eevee now a big strong Umbreon.]
The feeling's mutual, really. We've all missed you. [He hesitates a minute, before he adds:] Time is weird here. Years for us is no time at all back home - I've been here for... wow, has to be five or six years now.
