[Evie falls back, disappointed, and tries to assure it she just wants to make friends. Evan, the male Eevee, sighs a bit. They've been through this before.

Radley bends down and pets Evie.]

She's just really excited and friendly all the time. It's hard for her to accept that not everybody will feel the same.

[Which is ... sometimes similar to Radley's own feelings. He becomes very frustrated and hurt if someone rejects his own friendly overtures too often.]

Sorry about that.

[He picks up Evie and holds her.]

My creature appears to be...anxious. [Sephiroth's brow creases minutely.] I'm not sure how to address that.

[The Cubone, for its part, relaxes a little, watching Radley and his pokémon cautiously. It doesn't seem to want anyone too close to it, but it doesn't seem to object to interaction at a safe distance.]

Yeah, I'm not sure either.

[Radley frowns.]

But I had kind of the same thing with Evan here.

[He indicates the more reserved Eevee.]

He was beaten by punk kids and we saved him. He let me take him to the Pokemon Center for help, but I had to be patient trying to get to know him after that. He's still pretty quiet compared to Evie. I just let him take things at his own pace, which is what it looks like you're trying to do too. Maybe that's really all you can do for now.

[Evie tries to talk to Cubone from Radley's arms.]

If anything happened to this one, I don't know of it. I woke up here, and it was simply...with me. It could stop following me if it wished, but it doesn't seem to wish to.

[The Cubone tilts its skull-covered head as it looks at Evie, seemingly listening. It's not sure what she wants, but it seems like it may not mind hearing her out.]

[crystalmaster]

Yeah, it's your starter, I guess. Evie was mine. All of us wake up here with one Pokemon to travel with.

[Evie asks how it's doing and what its Trainer is like and if it'd like to be friends.]

[silver_soldier]

I'm not sure I'm qualified to care for this creature.

[The Cubone responds, a little hesitantly. It's okay for now. Its trainer is strange, and Cubone can't tell if its trainer actually likes it or not, but he isn't mean. It's not sure what being friends would mean, or why Evie wants to be friends with it, though it doesn't seem to be objecting to the idea so much as it is confused.]

[crystalmaster]

[Radley appreciates that he's concerned about that, instead of just finding the Pokemon inconvenient or annoying.]

Well, even so, there's not much you can do about it but keep trying. Everybody has Pokemon here. And I don't think anyone is allowed to give up their starter.

[He smiles a bit.]

And honestly, I've seen worse. I think you're doing okay.

[Evie is sure the trainer likes him. Being friends would mean they could do things together and like being together and help each other! She loves to play and she loves to help.]
