For the sake of ego? Tch, as expected from someone with a fraction of the facts. But know this: you can howl all you want, but in the end, in my time and place, the Empire won. We chased down those monsters and made them suffer for what they did to Lady Edelgard. To Jeralt. To thousands of others who's names you'll never know. My Professor hunted them to their nests like the rats they were.

We did it without you, your king or your pathetic goddess.

[Did he set things up so they could do those crimes? Perhaps. But would those who slither in the dark have come out into the light otherwise? Was the short term suffering of Fodlan worth destroying that threat now? He certainly thought so.]

Tch. She's not my goddess. As I thought, you justify your monstrous behavior by disguising your base thirst for ruination as the 'greater good.' Your Professor must be a pitiful imitation of himself if he agreed to bathe Fodlan in blood just to serve Edelgard's vengeance.

[It's almost eerie, listening to Hubert justify the war using the same twisted logic Dimitri used to use - making those who perpetuated crimes against the dead suffer, with no thought (or, in the Empire's case, care) to the collateral damage. And considering what he's heard about the end of the battle in Enbarr, Edelgard really did end up just like Dimitri would have if he'd continued as he was. Fucking tragic.]
