[Astrid is unable to speak for a few moments, though she does try a couple times. Eventually all she can think to do is hold her hand out.]

[Sephiroth's brow creases faintly as he looks at her, and then he looks down at her hand for a moment as if at a loss with what to do with it. But then memory stirs, and he reaches out his own to clasp hers.] Why would I lie? If I hadn't wanted to meet you, I could have refused.

[Already, he's giving the impression of being...slightly off. Not in a bad way, but in the way someone reciting words in a language they don't actually understand might be off.]

I...would rather not make myself obvious over a public network. As you've noticed, I'm very recognizable. And there are people who have every right to take issue with me, if they happened to be here. I'd prefer to avoid trouble.

[From behind one leather-clad leg, a Cubone peeks out at her.]

Fair enough. Dunno if anybody you know would be here; this place seems to be a funnel for different timelines, but how it cut me off from the Void I have no idea.

[Spotting the Cubone, Astrid smiles and kneels down to be at eye-ish level.]

Hey, buddy. Big world out here, huh? [She holds her hand out partway, palm-up.] What's your name?
