The city is small, at least comparing it to Midgar it's small. Zack wouldn't be surprised if this was one of the bigger cities in this new wild world but he likes it that way. The foliage on each block and the lack of giant reactors is a blessing to him. He hasn't been in this world long but he's trying to push the past aside and move forward. The way he saw it, he died back in Gaia and this was a second chance of life where he didn't have to fight anymore. Sure he missed his friends and family but there was no way he could go back there.
Trying to distract himself from his darker thought he took out his pokegear to snap a selfie of himself and his pokemon. As it saved he heard a fluttering of wings and looked up only to see a metal bird like creature coming at him.
'They have metal birds here??!?'
Zack holds onto his tiny bidoof a bit tighter to protect it as his Mimikyu hides in his hair. Sure he try and fight this thing but how could he even think of letting his precious new companions fight something that looks like a single head pat would destory his hand. He tries to take a step away from it but the bird is circling him until it vanishes into a pokeball.
He's about to scold whoever the owner is to have better care of their dangerous looking pokemon but as he turns to see who it is he hears his name. He remembers those eyes, he remembers that face even if the last time he saw it was someone elses.
"Director.." If he thought this was some kind of afterlife before, seeing Lazard here now confirmed his theory. He'd watched him die right in front of him and fad intot he lifestream. Not only was this Lazard alive and seemingly well, he also didn't look like his old mentor.
Slowly he crossed the street, still holding his pokemon close. When they were in an arms reach of eachother he stopped, not knowing the right words to say. What could you say to a man you watched die?
"I...um...so..." He paused and took a deep breath before putting on a smile. "Funny meeting you here, right?"
