Yeah, you're right. I've kind of been wondering if I'll want to eat meat if I ever go back to my first home. The meat back home is really tasty, usually. I liked tuna and salmon a lot, for seafood. I don't know if there's anything here that's equivalent to those. We had a festival recently and there was a dish that's made with octopus back home, so that surprised me. I don't know if it was an octopus Pokemon or if they have regular octopus here too.

I have some nutrition bars for when I get desperate, but I'm hoping we can make our way out before then.

It might reach the news at some point, I should think… I wonder. How many of us do you think have arrived here?

They do. They have the ability to harness many elements, as well! Don't you, Alphinaud? [ The Meowstic let out a pleased sound - and quite suddenly, let out a small burst of telepathy, a happy sound in their heads. As for Pachirisu... ]

They're Lightning elemental -- except in this star, they call it the Electric-type. And they use similar power to control their technology.

[Radley chuckles.]

Yeah, I'm sure it has. Maybe no one's succeeded in a while. It's hard to keep track of how many are here, especially since some get sent home and others come. I think there might be several dozen or more, usually. Maybe less. I have no idea how many have come altogether through the years.

Snakes Tolliver | The Wild Wild West

1. New Bark Town

Snakes is shocked to wake up at all. The last thing he remembers is collapsing dead on the morgue floor. Now he's waking up laying in a bed, with some strange lady chattering at him, and a blue blob saluting him and flatly saying what sounds like "Wobbuffet."

He leaps upright, covers falling off his shoulders, and stumbles out of bed. "Just what is this?!" he cries, forgetting to cover up his natural Southern accent as he often does back home. "Where am I?! This doesn't look like any afterlife!"

The woman's answers make no sense, and soon she's shoving him and the blob out the door, where he faceplants unceremoniously in the grass.

"Wobbuffet," the creature says.

"Yeah, yeah, I got that part." He pushes himself up and looks around wildly for anyone to help him make sense of this madness. "Where am I?!"

2. Network

Snakes is from a world of the 19th Century, more or less, but it's a steampunk 19th Century. Figuring out the PokeGear actually isn't too hard for him, but his hands are shaking as he sets up the video.

"H-Hello?" he stutters. "Is anyone out there? I ... uh ... I don't know what to do with this."

He turns the video feed to show that he and Wobbuffet are pinned down by Weedles on all sides.

"I'll never complain again about the bugs back home, you betcha. How in the world are they this big???!!!"

[She's probably learned as much or more from F'lhaminn as him- though he knows. He squeezes her hands again, gentle- though he makes a startled sounds at the telepathy.]

What- that's you!? That's- how do they do that?

Lightning- no, electric? So- can those creatures help with the power, then? That seems quite helpful.

That's an interesting question, actually. The octopus thing... I don't know what an octopus is, because creatures where I'm from are very different from what most people here seem to be used to. And there's no Pokemon that look like them! But I have seen another creature, once, that looks like some of the Pokemon here.

So I'm not sure how much Pokemon are like creatures from our homes, but it's weird that at least some seem to be.

I guess... But I worry about him.

[He sighs and shakes his head.] It's not important right now, though. Do you live near this forest? Will you be able to get back okay?

[Boober doesn't liek the implication there, and looks up at Kaiba with a frown.]

I'm not taking your only real meal. We can split it.

Which creature was that? It is pretty strange that a lot of Pokemon are like animals I'm used to. It's cool, though. It's kind of fascinating seeing the similarities.

[instrumentally]

I have been staying in Azelea. If it is too dark to return, sometimes I spend the night in the forest.

Mm-hm. I've seen a few people here who are from the same one.

[crystalmaster]

That's great! I'm glad you know people here from home.

[He still wished his friends from home could come.]

Rock Howard | The King of Fighters

[ being booted out of the house by terry is one thing. being booted out of a home by a strange lady is another. normally, rock's temper would have at least yelled at the lady, but this time... he's just confused. there's so much going on that he decides that fighting anything is not worth it.

he spares a glance at the growlithe, who's stuck by the teenager's side ever since popping out of the ball when he was banging against the lady's door. ]

You don't think she'd answer me even if I broke her door down, would she?

[ a bark. yeah, that's a 'no'. rock sighs. ]

You could've been nice and said 'yes', you know...

way to the horizon [ecruteak city]

[ wandering around the city made him think about the few times he's traveled to japan-- it wasn't often, but it was still times he enjoyed it to the best of his ability. participating in tournaments always did provide the nice kinds of travel, especially if they were the king of fighters tournaments.

but now, he's enjoying the atmosphere with a sigh, letting his growlithe run around and bark to his heart's content. of course, running around with a happy bark was bound to ram into something with all its built-up speed, and when he did, rock was quick to notice. ]

Terry?! Are you okay?! [ he shakes off the light deja vu before rushing over and picking the growlithe up, cradling it gently. he then turns to the victim with a weak smile. ] I'm sorry, he was just excited. Are you alright?

[ all of this is new. he's used to cellphones, not anything like a smartwatch. sure, he's heard and seen them, but using them is another matter entirely. he's figuring out what to do (it's not that hard, thankfully), and with two, three pushes, and the live signal reveals itself. ]

Ah, uh... is this on? Where am I? What are these strange creatures? [ his growlithe pops up on screen, barking happily. he is a 'strange creature', hello. ] Should I be worried? Are they going to hurt anyone?

[ a bit of silence, and... ] oh, I'm Rock, by the way. [ nice save. ]

It certainly helps to make it an easier adjustment.

[She considered his statement for a moment.]

I found some people from home, but we didn't know each other before. There's no one here I actually knew before.

[Another newcomer, a familiar sight by now. Radley chuckles sympathetically.]

Hi, Rock. I'm Radley. These creatures are Pokemon. A lot of them are friendly. Some aren't so much.

[He is holding three very friendly Eevees. One is climbing his shoulder.]

This is a world where Pokémon live. You know, I've never heard a name for this planet. It reminds me and others of an alternate Earth, though....

Some pokemon can be dangerous if they are found in the wild. That is why it is important to have one of your own.

Is that what these creatures are called…? [ he’d already named it after terry, but rock could figure out that was probably was the species name and not the individual name. ]

I figured they were dangerous, when this little guy lashed out at another Pokémon, but I can take care of myself. I don’t need a little guy like him.

Yes. This device has much more information about their habits and abilities.

[Rapunzel is startled by being run into, and almost tripping over her own hair doesn't help with that. The braid was meant to keep it out of the way, but even tied up like that it goes down to the ground. When she steadies herself and can see it was a Pokemon who rushed her, fear is replaced with concern.]

It's okay! I could've been paying more attention. Is he going to be alright?

[ a bark from the tiny growlithe indicates its fine, to rock's relief. in fact he just keeps wagging his tail without a care in the world. thank goodness. ]

Yeah, looks like he's bouncing back quick. [ a sigh of relief. ] But again, sorry about it. He's probably just having fun.
