Plus, even if they didn't, you wouldn't really want to bring your rock pokemon to a gym themed around water, right?

Not out of the blue, no. Not all the time at least. You do need to earn their trust first. Food helps or even just chatting with them.

Well, Harry said some things very similar about your world. I think there's some others here from magical worlds, but yours kind of stood out to me.

[Nah, that didn't impress her so much. Not for now anyway, her pokemon seemed strong enough without that. Not that she'd only seen a few moves so far.]

[Exploring! Spelunking! She couldn't go everywhere yet, but once she has more pokemon...

She'd read the handbook, the trainer handbook. It only had a little section on breeding, it'd been boring.]

[ and the fact that he wanted to gift her at least one thing he could do around here with this newfound knowledge, but gabi is. gabi, at feelings. brushing away the redness burning his cheeks, he picks at something else to talk about. maybe something she's newly passionate about. ]

[There's a little grunt, a tilt of the head. Then a blink. Okay...

She's easily distracted by him bringing up her starter. Because she stops, her eyes glinting, puffing herself up. The awkward was being completely forgotten.]


No I found this one. I woke up with- [The gear falls, catching a lovely view of the nearby foliage. A rock wall, Gabi's shin and boot as she shuffled through her pockets. Then the sound of a Pokeball opening.

Then... it's the big boy.

Just a big fuck-off rhino... A rhino with fangs. And Gabi's just there, smirking with her eyes closed. Heck yeah she's proud.]

[Oh good, she's not a murderer here. And Rhyhorn seemed fine too, he was just looking around.]

Yeah, it's mine. We were... chasing the squirrel.

[No she didn't know what pokemon she'd been chasing. Slowly after a few seconds of thinking about it, she pushed herself up and started lowering herself down the ledge. It wasn't that high, just sheer enough one couldn't climb back up.]

Don't know. She kicked me out earlier.

[ he tries to hold back the bite in his voice, knowing that starting a fight here wouldn't do any of them good, but the glare is definitely not being hidden. don't get snippy with him, he's not the one who kicked you out. ]

All I know is that we're supposed to be going on a journey or something.

[ falco seems to know her all too well. he makes a sound when he sees it— this huge (not cart titan huge, or zeke huge, but huge) stone creature that actually looks intimidating! ]

It’s big—! [ and when poppie chirps up, ] I’ve just got this penguin . . . I named her Poppie. Does yours have any names?

[Was it as intimidating when you noticed the little blep? Because he was belpping as he looked at Gabi? What do?

The nickname question takes the wind out of her sails though. Because she hadn't and someone else had already asked. So she blinks, scratching her head. Hesitating for a moment.]

... I called the other one Rocky...

Other worlds with magic, hm? [Luna was intrigued.] I'm curious. What gave it away that I know Harry in particular? [She smiled a little.] There are others here from our world, too, I think.

Well, I guess it was mainly how Harry talked about what was happening at your school. That kind of stuck with me and then when you were talking I just wondered ...

[He blinks in surprise.]

[ falco wasn’t any better at names as of now. “poppie”. or “poppy”, they “-y” ending is the easiest to go to after all, and rocky was . . . well.

they were twelve. give them a break. ]

Rocky and . . . [ stare stare stare— ] —Horny? Because of the horn. Or— Rhyno?

[ someone stop them. ]

He is a Ryhorn, and he learns a lot of moves that use is horn... And the pokedex says the boy ones have bigger horns than the girls. [And so! She pointed at the big boy.] You're Horny now, got it? [The blep increases as he gave a soft grunt. Gabi nodded back, yes good. Then she turned back to Falco... Scowling?]
