i. Ilex Forest
[ It's...comfy for her here. A wood this dense and deep feels like home. Naeva doesn't much mind the change here--the air is clean, the sounds of pokemon are comforting, the caterpie are...Caterpie, and so on.

She's decided to meditate at some odd old Shrine--she's still getting used to being truly alive and human, and centering herself helps.

The growing horde of small pokemon climbing on her doesn't necessarily help but she's too zoned out to notice. Someone maybe intervene before a Pidgey makes a literal nest in her hair. Or just take pictures. I don't judge and she won't while she's not paying attention. ]

ii.Safari Zone - Johto

[...They handed her bait and rocks and safari balls but this woman here, sitting on the ground and trying to get a Tauros to eat out of her hand, has very clearly misunderstood the assignment and might be in grave danger.

[peeking around a tree from a safe distance at this error in action. a Hisuian Zorua is peeking around the other side of the tree and looking equally dubious.]

[She and the Tauros looked up in unison. Uh-oh.]

['Moo?']

[hisses TRAITOR at the Zorua as it spooks and goes scrabbling up into the tree, leaving him behind to field the stares]

Uhh, no, just, y'know, doing all good over there? No charging or nothing? Having a good time?

Charging?

[The tauros is now giving them his full attention. Skuffing his feet. Give unto him your snacks.]

Ah...Oh dear.

Dude don't look at me like that. I'm on my day off, man, this is rest and relaxation day.

I think he can...smell the treats....

[You see that gleam in his angry, beady eye?

Hand over your poffins if you want to live.]

Treats he wants, treats he gets!

[digs a couple poffins out of his bag and tosses them towards the Taurus. the Zorua chatters in offense, hey those were ours!!]

[Taurus is going to eat those happily. Naeva has...very carefully gotten up and skirted around him towards the tree, to not be behind the large bull pokemon, that seems like a terrible idea.]

We should go while he is distracted, I think.

[Beckons hurridly at the Zorua to jump out of the tree and into his arms, and hushes their protests about the treats.]

Yeah, yeah, sounds good. It's uh— hillier? More ledges back that way. I don't think buffalo like hills?

Oh, I think he's perfectly capable of jumping, but someplace with more trees is best.

[...She dug out a treat to hand to the Zorua. But let's mosey!]

[The nice things about woods is they're an entirely different encounter table.]

Uh, no uh, yeah we’re fine. Big guy didn’t get near us.

[the zorua yips in agreement. both safe!]

I'm...a little new here, is all. And I enjoy seeing these little ones healthy and well-protected like this. It reminds me as home.

[Ryou's just trying to get through the forest when he sees someone just sitting there, letting various Pokémon climb on them. His Hisuian Zorua, Banshee, decides to just trot up and sniff at this weird person, which could be either good or bad depending on how much this person likes weird ghost foxes.]

Banshee, no. [Then, to the person, who Banshee is still sniffing, completely ignoring her trainer:] Hey, are you okay?

[ Good news, Banshee, she used to be a weird ghost fox. Which is to say, she starts a little when she hears someone talking, but has immediately focused on the pokemon...and is digging in her pocket for a treat. Not that it changes how...severe her expression is. ]

[Aw, Banshee is a lot less interested in Naeva now that she's paying attention to her. She does like treats though, so she'll take it and carry it back to Ryou to eat it there.]

Sorry about her, she doesn't usually like most people... [Ryou awkwardly smiles, glancing at the various Pokémon again before continuing.] It's just that you had some Pokémon climbing on you while you were meditating.

It's quite alright.

[She does pause though, before standing, to gently remove a caterpie from her hair.]

I don't really mind them, but thank you for your concern.

My name's Ryou, by the way, and this is Banshee. [He gestures at the little Zorua by his side as he speaks, who is just staring with her normal sad look now.] Who are you?

My name is...[there's an audible pause as she remembers to skip all the titles.]

Naeva. A pleasure to meet you both.

[Ryou smiles before continuing, a bit awkwardly as he asks the (perhaps obvious) question.]

So what were you doing meditating out here?

...Why shouldn't I?

[She tilts her head, a little bit.] Meditation is quite good for maintaining discipline and a centered state of mind...and I find this forest quite nostalgic, as well.
