[No more than a few steps away is a small enclave that has the remnants of a campsite, the fire pit trough already dug out. She makes it a point to pick up a few sticks and twigs for fuel, also placing her bag down nearby. It's a vastly better upgrade than what she started with.

Speaking of that...]

Yes, I've only been here for about 10 days, so I'm still getting used to everything. It feels like a dream at times, with the music and otherworldly creatures. [She chuckles a little while unloading the necessary camping tools: a portable tea kettle, a pan, some sliced potatoes, eggs, and tomatoes. Breakfast hash it is.]

What about you, Louie? Are you doing okay out here in the wilds?

[Despite being thrust into a new role, she genuinely does care about the younger generation. Even if those same youth are actively trying to get into her Pokemon battles.]

[While Olivia gets to work, Louie takes a seat on the ground, making sure he can keep an eye on where Penn is now starting to snore.]

Oh, yeah, the music is really weird. Sometimes you start to get used to it, and then it changes or whatever and... [He blows a raspberry.] But me? I'm doing okay. This isn't my first time here, actually.

I suppose the music is one of many oddities in this place.

[Occasionally she'll glance up at Meowth, but if nothing is amiss, she'll focus on the task at hand. The only Pokemon companion she's got is released from his Pokeball, an excited Heat Rotom. Of course, her first purchase in the land of Pokemon happened to be the transformation catalog for this very reason: versatility. Also to get her Pokemon to behave.]

[She stops working in order to stare blankly at Louie, tilting her head curiously. Without thinking about the context of her words, she speaks up, letting her weird flag fly.]

So, this isn't the afterlife? Or purgatory?

What? No, no. [He chuckles faintly, gesturing around with one hand.] I think it's a different dimension, maybe, but we're not dead. Well... I don't know, maybe some people are, but somehow I've survived all the crazy adventures so far.

It's rather cheery for an alternate world then.

[There's a hint of sarcasm in that statement, handing him a mug of earl gray tea.]

Oh? I'd like to hear those stories sometime, if you're okay with talking about them. My world...isn't very exciting.

Thanks. [Louie smirks a bit at the sarcasm, even as he inhales deeply over the tea. The warmth is really nice.] Well, I figure not every alternate world or weird reality can be weird and dangerous. Just most of them.

Sure, I could tell you about some adventures, but hey, don't sell "not very exciting" short. It's not a bad thing.

[Staying warm is essential in the wild, and if the fire remotely gets close to going out, Rotom eagerly keeps it lit.]

You're definitely not wrong if science fiction and horror movies have taught us anything. Big monsters only exasperate that. [But regarding her own home, she politely shakes her head no and raises one hand in objection.]
