It's a good thing this place is an automatic translator, though, because Machi would not have known the word 'parrot.' The problem with this is that, because he doesn't know the word in English and he is stubbornly sticking to using English despite his self-taught, amateur grasp of it, he can't say anything about the parrot thing.

I guess you'll just have to get used to it? I know kids sometimes go through phases like this and they delight in being frustrating and getting a rise out of people. Not that this character is the same way, but Pokemon are pretty intelligent, so who knows.
