A great evil being sealed... [She trails off for a moment as she contemplates what exactly that was in regards to.]
I... believe that would be in regards to one of the priests, Akhenaden, I believe his name was, who exuded so much darkness. Everything at the palace was falling apart as if an earthquake had hit it. [She goes quiet for a moment, attention flicking from the screen to what can be assumed is her just watching the sky.]
I was freed from where I had been by one of the other priests as he had come specifically to do so. Told me to run. But I couldn't just leave him there to fend for himself like that. [A deep breath, mostly to calm her nerves.] I shouldn't have, I admit, as it certainly cost me my life. Though that was not enough for me even then, I admit. I had vowed to protect him, I meant that.
[Her attention returns to the screen for a moment, the faintest hint of a grin playing on her lips.] Darkness cannot survive when light exists. He had tried to possess the priest I vowed myself to, tried to use my beast against the pharaoh. I cannot say I was terribly keen on allowing him to be possessed by darkness like that and I'm quite proud to say I was able to rid him of that darkness. Seto did not deserve such a fate as that.
1/2
What he, of course, focuses on in particular is that Kisara claims to have rid a priest of the darkness. Is it possible? To get rid of the lingering effects of the Millennium Items? Or is she just speaking figuratively?
Marik doesn't feel that particular darkness in him as much as he used to but he assumes that's from the power nullifying of this world.
While he is trying to better himself, it's like a bad addiction. He wants to feel it again. Feel that intoxicating power...]

... Did you say Seto?
no subject
What she did not expect was that expression and that question, as if it were... odd?]
Yes? He was one of the Pharaoh's priests.
no subject
He remembers when the brunette mentioned a girl who was the spirit of Blue Eyes while they were having one of their heart to heart talks.]
Is your ka... the Blue Eyes White Dragon?
no subject
Usually I heard it referred to as just the white dragon, but I suppose it would have blue eyes since that's... what color my eyes are. [A small bit of a shrug, she seems oddly calm about all of this.] Until the end, I never really saw what my ka beast looked like, exactly, since I was never... conscious when it was out.
no subject
Unconscious though? What the hell was the method to summoning a person's ka then? Ugh. This conversion is just creating more and more questions.
Still, to be meeting Kaiba's beloved dragon is not something he ever thought he'd be doing, that's for sure.]
... Let's just say your legacy lives on in the modern day.
[Normally he isn't one to divulge information about another person being here but... It's Blue Eyes. If ever there was someone who should know Kaiba's around, it's Kisara.]
Seto is here. It's not... the one you knew but... Osiris granted him reincarnation.
no subject
Humming a bit she nods in understanding, she's... known, really.]
I know. While he may not be the same person anymore, that... bond, I suppose, is still there as it was before. I'm just glad that Osiris did see him worthy of such and perhaps things ended up easier for him this time around.
[She's fine just being a lingering spirit at this point, after all. Easier to do what needs to be done and continue pledging loyalty to someone like this than if another human body was involved.]
no subject
[That'll be good for Kaiba. Poor guy's been stuck just him and Atem for the past while - and Marik has been a bit of a primadonna as of late.]
Easier... I'm not sure. He's had to deal with his share of hardahips but he's tenacious and intelligent. I've never seen someone take life by the horns and mold it into exactly what he wants like Kaiba has.
If you've spoken, he's filled you in on the basics of this place? I know the technology is jarring. I had to teach someone else from the past how to properly use it when he arrived.
no subject
Some things never change, I guess... [She's not a fan of hearing that, but it's not as if she could really do anything about it. But if he's doing as well at living said life, then that's all she can really hope for. Tenacious and intelligent continues even through reincarnation, she sees.]
The parts that were missing, yes! Luckily the people of this place were very friendly and quite helpful with figuring out how all of this works. It's... refreshing to see. And someone else from the past? [He has her attention now, he can't just say that and not give her details!]
no subject
Mn. It is refreshing to see. Even the natives are similar in disposition if not a bit... scripted at times. They refer to us as otherworlders and everyone I've met since coming here has been very welcoming.
[He taps his cheek in thought.]
Yes. He's from... I believe we figured out he's from about a thousand years in the past going by this world's date. A large Roman man by the name of Lucius Modestus. He's never been to Egypt himself but he's quite knowledgeable on things from that age.
no subject
Scripted... [Actually, now that she thinks about it, there was something that was off about at least the person that was calling herself her mom. As if she ever really knew who her mom was in the first place.] Now that I think about it, I do recall finding some of the things they were saying were a little... off. [Inhuman, almost.
Lucius Modestus. She has no idea what a Roman is, but that name is certainly not one she'll be forgetting any time soon. Especially if he supposedly is knowledgeable about these kinds of things.]
... Why would he have ever been to Egypt? But I will keep that in mind, I certainly wouldn't mind learning a little more about how things have changed over the years. [Even if it's not technically a same world scenario. That doesn't matter in the slightest.]
no subject
[Marik doesn't want to believe this is a game world but... all signs point towards yes.]
I think it's after your time but Rome has connections to Egypt. Like... They conquered a lot of places but I can't argue that they seemed to leave most of them improved... Hnnn.
[Ready to see him light up like a kid talking about a super hero?]
Lucius himself traveled with the Emperor of Rome so he's been all over. I don't know if he realizes how incredible that is but his name is "Modest" so...
[Shrug.]
no subject
Mmm. She can't say she's fond of the word conquered in conjunction with this conversation right about now. Even if it's after her time, the idea is still.... ugh. Improved or not.]
I'm glad that is after my time, then, because I'm not so sure I'd have the same opinion as you. If they were conquering places, I can't imagine most of the native people were happy about it. I know I probably wouldn't have been. [Oops, sorry, Marik, might be slightly spoiling that lighting up.
But she won't talk or theorize on that too much.]
Either he sticks to his name or he doesn't realize how difficult travelling to other places is for other people. I mean, I don't think I would, even if I hadn't died, had the chance to explore anywhere other than Egypt. [Though the idea sounds really good to her, if she had to be honest. A change of scenery was already doing her a world of good, even if the cold part of it is horrendous.]
no subject
thanks to the dubhe had at one point. So he just gives another shrug, not even bothered by Kisara's statement. Lucius is still a fascinating man to him.]
Maybe. I'm just paraphrasing so I'm probably missing some key components there.
[Now what does get him is that she drops the whole "I died" thing casually. Sure, he almost did too but... not many people think and act like him.]
I don't think he realizes it. I had him play a bunch of games for me and he mastered all of them right off the bat. He even drew something for me and it looked like a-
[Oh, she wouldn't know what a photograph was...]
-a painting.
I'm... eh... sorry that happened to you though.
