They sure are.

Oh boy, are they. My little Sabrina, she's still having trouble controlling her powers. Sometimes she still accidentally levitates tables and chairs with people at them. Her daddy tries to help her control her powers.

[Joey wraps her in his arms and picks her up a bit off the ground when she hugs him, giving her the best kind of bear hug.]

Der der sis. You're safe now. I got ya.

[Lowering her back to the ground Joey pats her back reassuringly with his hand as he holds her. Despite the unpleasantness of the situation he can't help but smile, as finding his sister in the middle of a dark cave was not what he'd expected when he set out to explore that morning. Whether this meant he had the very best of luck or the very worst of luck he wasn't sure, but whatever it was he was just glad to have been able to be there in his little sister's time of need.]

How'd you end up in here Serenity? Did someone bring ya here?

( her expression flattens when he mocks her friend's name. as if "marik" is so great of a name.

admittedly, the pokemon that he releases is amazingly cool. it's really interesting that it can morph, so to speak, into a motorcycle ride pokemon. but she loses all her faculties when he tells her that she'll have to hold onto him. her brain sort of breaks for a moment. she's rode on a bike before with the aforementioned friend but she's not really looking forward to the idea of touching marik. )

Erk... ( she sighs and gets onto the bike, not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth and all. once seated, she leans to press against his back and hugs her arms around his waist. ) ...okay, I'm ready!

[oncewasblind]

( she raises her brows and chuckles lightly. )

I imagine that can be kind of jarring for the people at the table. I hope that she can get control over it!

[oncewasblind]

( the bear hug is just what she needs to feel better after that whole ordeal so she leans into him to clutch. once her feet touch the ground again, she moves her hands to scrub at her eye lightly, wiping away any remaining tears. )

I was just walking the route when it started to rain really, really hard. Eevee and I just took refugee in the cave but I didn't realize I'd gotten so close to a pitfall...

It's usually me at the table, but yeah, it's pretty jarring! She's doing a lot better than she was, though.

I hope she gets even better at it! I guess it might be silly, too.

[Ryou rummages through his bag, locating a rope and quickly sending the end down to Serenity.]

Can you hold onto this?

[The Dracozolt chitters back at the Eevee, trying to keep the little Pokémon calm as Ryou tries to help Serenity.]

[Joey looks down at the Eevee. So that was her starter eh? That means she must have already come in and seen "Mom", so how long has she been in here? He wishes he'd been able to meet her right at the start, but he was here now and that's what mattered.]

Well I'm here now, so I'll make sure you safe as can be from here on out. You and ya lil' friend!

[Crouching-down, Joey digs through his backpack and produces a poncho as well as small fold-out umbrella.]

Here ya go sis! Why dontcha hold on ta these until we can get some propah rain gear for ya? I got a buncha campin' stuff too so we'll be good on da road.

[He hands the items to Serenity and gives a grin to her Eevee.]

How long you and da little one been in here? And how did'ja even get in here?

Oh! Yes, please... That would be a lot better than sticking around here. Although, do you have an umbrella? It was really coming down out there...

[oncewasblind]

I.. I've got it!

( she grasps the rope and maneuvers it around herself so that she won't fall back down if she trips or something on the way up. )

[oncewasblind]

( she definitely saw "mom," who isn't their mom at all. serenity gingerly takes the umbrella and tugs on the poncho. )

Thanks Joey. You're always there for me when I need you the most.

( she's always able to count on him for literally everything. she should have known that he was going to be the one to find her and guide her back to solid ground. he just always seems to be there when she's in need. to the grin he offers at her eevee, she trills happily at seeing him sensing the bond between her trainer and the hero who rescued her. )

We haven't been here that long... Umm, I got lost on the routes and then it started to rain, so, I hid in there but it was too dark and I didn't realize there was weak ground there...

Yeah, thankfully, I do.

[He brings it out.

Evie listens to hear if rain is still falling.]

[Joey cracks a big grin and holds his backpack up. Several little tubes and tarps are affixed to the side of it, and it looks every bit the part of the kind of survivalist packs you'd see in the movies.]

You don't gotta tough it out in da rain no more, cuz I got all da campin' gear you can dream of in here. I've been hoofin' it outdoors for like da past six months now, so I've got all da gear. We can make a full-on adventah' outta it, with grilled cheese, s'mores, n' all dat jazz!

[Joey looks at Serenity to see if the idea puts her mind at ease, but also puts his mind to how would be best to go about pitching camp given the surroundings. Maybe head back out and set it up at the entrance? Eh. That's a bridge to cross when they get there.]

Would dat help ya feel bettah aftah... [He points to the pitfall] ...dat? We'll get some warm food in ya and give ya someplace safe ta sleep, n' den lookit what's next in da morning when it ain't rainin' cats n' dogs.

[He'll have her know his name means "King!" So it is a very good name.

It's as weird for him as it is for Serenity honestly. She'll notice he tenses for a moment, grinding his teeth. He'd much rather be doing this with Fluttershy. ... But it's a small price to pay if it means keeping Joey at bay.]

Right. Chafu, let's go!

[The Cyclizar roars excitedly before squealing his "tires" and lunges forward.

Marik will need to recondition his hair after all of this. The rain is really coming down and his coat isn't entirely water proof like the raincoat Serenity is wearing. He makes sure not to drive too quickly as to let her get used to the sensation of riding a freaking motorcycle pokémon. The tomb keeper is obviously a capable driver though, handling any turns with ease and making any acceleration seem smooth.

After a while of them driving in silence, Marik calls over his shoulder.]

...Doing okay so far?

Oh thank goodness. I really should have thought ahead to bring one myself but, I didn't.

( she droops a little in defeat. )

It's hard to always think about what to bring in unfamiliar situations. I made some mistakes too.

[Radley moves towards the entrance.]

( honestly she's impressed with the bag because of how well prepared her brother is. serenity has always held him in high regard so his valiant rescue and being so well put together just fuels the pride in him she constantly feels. )

You've been doing this all by yourself for six whole months?

( and her brother has somehow gotten even cooler. )

That's impressive, big brother! I'll follow your lead, but, it does sound nice to get somewhere warmer and have a bite to eat.

( that don't impress her much.

silence overcomes them both as the cyclizar drives along with the pair of them on its back. she's not sure what to talk about with marik and even further unsure whether or not she even wants to talk to him. the sooner this is over, the better. she's thankful for the drive to somewhere safer than the cave but he's still someone who had hurt her brother-- and her friends. it's hard to forget that.

shaken from her bout of silence, she nods although he can't see that so also voices: )

Yes, I'm fine! This is quite the method of travel!

( the pokemon is impressive. his name is not. )

I'm glad it's not just me.

( she follows him toward the entrance of the cave. )

Oh yeah, definitely not.

[They reach the entrance and Radley steps out first, holding the umbrella for Serenity.]

What's that supposed to mean?

[It definitely didn't come across like it was intended, until the identity of the person he was talking to was revealed, then he lightened up]

Mai?! You're here too!? What are the odds? Oh, uh sure. You said some information about the others?

pretty coincidental.

well, i do have some info but nothing too intensely amazing. i know for certain that joey is here, kaiba as well. bakura i spoke with and was informed that a certain insane duelist from battle city is around.

[At least Mai had the courtesy of ignoring the potentially confrontational portion of his response]

I don't know, all of that seems pretty amazing to me. [Except for the part about Kaiba, Tristan was never the greatest fan of that guy.] An insane duelist? ... Uh, you might have to narrow that down. [What with the myriad of Rare Hunters that had been in operation then and not a one of them seemed all that sane...

... unless she meant the guy that was the perpetrator of it all.] You don't mean Marik, do you? [While he could understand her own aversion to that particular duelist, he should be fine now. Free from negative influence.] Did Bakura happen to mention if Marik was currently acting insane...?
