So, speaking of Joey. Have you spoken to him directly?

[Staring at the screen a little anxiously as he sent that one. It had been quite a while since Tristan and his friends had seen the seasoned duelist and it hadn't exactly ended on the best note. Joey had always had a special connection to Mai, and there was no doubt that her absence likely hit him the hardest. Concern for his best friend practically demanded some clarity on how that reunion went down.]

[They could use all the friends they could gather in a completely alternate timeline/videogame/thing. Still hadn't decided on a theory himself.]

Man, when you start talking in months I have a hard time wrapping my head around it.

[Even though it had been a while since he'd seen Bakura, it was so hard to believe that he could have been missing for a few whole months. Joey and Kaiba being here was even less fathomable because of that whole Grand Championship at Kaibaland.]

So how have you been? What have you been up to all this time?

[Don't worry about him being missing Tristan, the running logic is that time just freezes for everyone's worlds and that everyone is from different timelines.]

[Lbr, if roles had been reversed, Joey likely would have ended up in a headlock anyway. Clearly, the headlock is the superior way to issue either a greeting or challenge. Very versatile.

Hearing the reference to that specific monster, drew a smirk to his lips. Shaking his head, he tried to conceal his amusement. His grip loosened allowing his bff to slip free.]

Okay, you got me. Now wipe that expression off your face before I decide to rearrange it for you.

[The threat was empty, as they tended to be when it came to the back and forth teasing the pair often engaged in.]

The only thing I've run into out here is you. And I'm not jumpy, I.. was just showing my pokémon what to do in an ambush. Yeah, that's it.

[He's so full of it and no one is fooled. Also, it didn't surprise him in the slightest that at some point in time Joey had just been out here fist-fighting monsters.]

If I knew that, then I wouldn't still be here. Maybe a few days. What about you?

“Correct considering that she is a grass type, it would be too easy for them to see her as food. Yeah it would be very difficult to get her to be strong enough to battle other Pokémon if she does not have a lot of battle experience. She wants to help though she doesn’t know where to start,” Isabela nods in agreement.

“Oh I got an idea, maybe I could on check my Pokédex to see what moves she can to keep those squirrels away from us.”

“That’s great! There is always room for more,” thankfully the winds are slowly dying out as she gets the picnic area ready after a rough first time.

Carmen happily cheers and jumps up and down as she and her Trainers gets some company to have a great lunch while Isabela brings out some food and drinks for everyone to share (sandwiches, fruit salad, veggie sticks and soft drinks).

Evie warbles happily as everything is brought out.

"It all looks really delicious," Radley smiles.

[Ryou starts pulling, wheezing as he does so. It's clear that having to hike everywhere has not improved his already low upper body strength any.

Thankfully, his Dracozolt has the thought to bite down on the rope hanging from Ryou's grip and also start pulling, trying to support their trainer and help get Serenity out of the hole.]

( she follow and soon steps out of the cave alongside of him with the safety of the umbrella over her head. serenity returns eevee to her pokeball for now so that she can stay dry. )

( serenity does her best to place the soles of her sneakers along the wall of the pitfall so that she can ease their pulling, too. when she reaches the top thanks to the pair of them, she grabs at the edge and pulls herself up. )

G- Got it...! Thank goodness you came by...

( now that she's on safe ground, she looks up to her valiant hero(tm) and raises her brows. )

joseph and i spoke at length, actually. he seems to be doing pretty well for himself here.

[ she couldn't give two shits about whether or not marik was being controlled at the time. nothing ( in her mind ) will excuse what happened to her if only because it caused her to go down a hard path following the incident. ]

honestly, i didn't want to talk about him. bakura is the one who mentioned him, so, you might want to check in with him if you want the details. he mentioned briefly that he wasn't the same, or something, but my desire to give a damn was pretty low.

[The Valiant Hero is currently catching his breath after pulling Serenity up, give him a moment to recover.]

...You...you're Serenity, right? Are you okay?

[Ryou only really got to meet her during Battle City and he spent most of that possessed, so he's a little uncertain.]

“Oh gee thanks,” Isabela blushes a bit, “I managed to get them from a Pokémart earlier and I did my best to make the sandwiches from some of the ingredients that I picked up from there.”

[Radley takes a couple of his in his arms. Two more ride on his shoulders, while the remaining two walk under the umbrella.]

Sure. Let's just hope we can get back to the town without too much trouble.

"Great!" He starts to eat. "Delicious!"

Evie chirps in delight as she eats too.

"So, have you been here long?" Radley curiously asks.

No worries on the spelling. I use a mobile keyboard on workdays and it makes for the same issues.

[OOC: Anytime Tristan goes for a headlock it will always make me think of that "Drooling Monsters?" "Duel Monstahs ya nimrod!" from Episode 1. Good old Beta Test-era Tristan. Nothing quite like that ol' "The Sun will come up in a few hours." xD]

[At Tristan's "threat" Joey feigns being hurt.]

Aww what? I can't be happy to see my best bud? Ya wound me Tristan.

[He puts his hand to his chest in the best "clutches at pearls" type of gesture he can muster/]

[Joey suddenly realizes exactly what kind of Pokémon Tristan was given and immediately begins to crack-up.]

Holy crap dat's amazin'!

[Laughing harder and harder, it eventually robs him of breath to the point he has to bend over from sheer laughter. By the time the laughter reaches the silently-rocking-back-and-forth point Joey is just tearing-up and slapping the ground in amusement.]

Oh boy! Oh gosh! Dat's too friggin' good! Be careful not ta end up swappin' bodies with dis one ok Tristan?

Sounds like a plan Serenity! We'll get camp set up right away den!

[Joey picks up his pack and beckons Serenity to come with him to the cave's entrance.]

It's prolly best if we set up shop eitha near or on da entrance. Dat way we got room ta spread out n' don't smoke da heck outta ourselves if we make a fire. Means we get'ta watch da rain too!

Marik is keenly aware of the situation they're in. If Joey wasn't in this world, he'd have just left her after some minor bullying. But with Joey here, he needs to be on his best behavior. He knows he shouldn't lean in to his darker tendencies but... old habits die hard and he enjoys being a little shit.

They've still got a little while before they hit Violet. Might as well pass the time with idle chitchat.]

Isn't it? This is a newly discovered pokémon. For whatever reason, you're not allowed to drive a motor vehicle in this place but apparently this is fine.

No offense, Chafu.

[The Cyclizar just grunts, seemingly not insulted. He's getting to drive and that's all that matters!]

Once we reach town, I can call Joey-Or... Hnn. You can call him. It shouldn't take him long to get to us and then you two can be off on your merry little way. Sound good?

[Hearing the young woman deem her idea of theft as "pretty fair" - at least that's how she hears it - brightens Eda's mood a bit.]

Don't get me wrong, if I had my powers back, I could take care of them without breaking a sweat. [She snickers. Even with access to just glyphs, Eda's confident of that.] I'm just not sure my Pokemon partner has it in her to take them on. Don't get me wrong, she's got spunk! But the strength to back it up? That's debatable.

Sounds like she must have some spirit in her. I got to admit that my partner is small at the moment though it is not without her wanting to take on battles and challenges. She does have some moves to defend her in any situation.

You keep her out of her Pokeball, huh? That's fun. I'm not exactly what you'd call a plant person, but I gotta admire something that puny wanting to battle.

Well as it turns out, Carmen hates being stuck inside a Pokéball. I tried to get her to go inside a couple of times and she is like nope, I am going to stick with you all the time. Funnily enough, I guess that the reason I got her might have to do with my knack for plants.
