Indeed she has. I am older than the very sun itself it is incredibly ridiculous of her to think herself my mother.

[ They're mostly saying this in jest, because they're pretty sure you're exaggerating here. A methuselah, perhaps, is what we're dealing with, and Laszlo is still slightly on edge with that possibility, but the humanization of everyone here has given them a sliver of courage. ]

Why would you think I am Eru? And who is Cain? I'm an elf, there are plenty of us that were born before the sun rose for the first time.

But the sun is over four billion years old.

As for Cain, the existence of the first of my kind is a subject of much theological debate. Pretty rich, we are talking about a man who most people know about for killing another man with a rock.

It's only been here for a few centuries now, it's hardly as old as all that.

That... explains absolutely nothing. Why is his existance debated? Why is it a theological debate about it?

The best guess our world's scholars have as to the age of the world is about four billion years old. Humans have been around for a few hundred thousand years, but most of them, they don't live more than a century.

Now, us Cainites? We can exist for millennia, in theory. Most of us don't.

So the question as to whether or not Cain ever existed is up for debate because ten thousand generations is too long for any of us to remember. So much effort, and we barely know the last twenty thousand years.

According to the stories, Cain was one of the first men to walk the earth.

But all we have are stories.

He created the act of murder, bashed his brother's head in with a rock.

And for it, he gained a terrible curse.

So you are not entirely sure about your own origins as a people? That is... unfortunate. Humans are rather new where I am from, they've just been around for a century or two by my reccolection, but it might just be that none of my people encountered them before that...

Why did he kill his brother? And what was the curse he called down upon himself with those actions?
