Dolly Mancer | OC
[The camera rolls after Dolly figured out how to work the PokeGear. For a change, it's actually spaced away from her face at a decent distance. This morning had been a rude awakening of sorts, far from her found family, a strange human called 'Mom', and a surprise tiny insect creature to boot.]
[A pale human girl with freckles, college age judging from the appearance, comes into view. Dolly wore her hair long with brown hair and creamy white streaks, a red hair bow tied in the back as she ran a hand along the fluffy bangs. The glasses glint a bit in the sunlight for a moment as Dolly collects herself before making that first video chat.]
[Another new world, another new place she had to learn, ANOTHER MOMENT OF HAVING TO REBUILD EVERYTHING FROM SCRATCH. It's fine, totally fine, Dolly will be just fine. For now, Dolly had bigger fish to fry and getting a grasp on where in the Stellar Sea she landed in.]
Hello, not to cause a buzz [Cue the Cutiefly coming into the screen and perching on Dolly's head], but I seem to be in a place called 'Pallet Town'? If anyone has an idea, it'll be the Bee's knee.
2. ON MY WAY TO VIRIDIAN CITY!~(Action)
Okay, maybe this place was very much like the Wizard of Oz after encountering a Fidough that was surprisingly very similar to Curly. This was something of a relief for Dolly as she walked along with Curly the Fidough and Mead the Cutiefly. Maybe she'll encounter Pokemon that were remarkably similar to Babylon and Avalon? Only time could tell, but for now, there was a place Dolly was heading towards after arriving in Viridian City: THE LIBRARY.
If Dolly was going to figure out how she landed here, might as well start cracking the books at the library for answers. Maybe it'll give a hint on what to expect during her stay in the Pokemon World? Oh shoot! Curly starts bolting ahead for the library and of course, runs into someone...Dolly goes to follow after to pick up her Fidough.
"I am so sorry about Curly! You alright?"
3. WE'RE RUNNING WITH THE SHADOWS OF THE NIGHT~!(Action)
Who lets a kid run around alone, unsupervised and at nighttime in the Viridian Forest!? Dolly was certainly baffled by this as she gets this weird potentially feral human child wanting a battle? There was no way she was going to fight a small child...why did that kid pull out a PokeBall?....oh shit it's a Beedrill!
Was this a late night mugging by someone in the fourth grade? This was an interesting situation to encounter...
"Hey Hey Kid...let's not do this...just put the murder bee slowly away...okay?"
4. HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT~!(Wildcard) (Please feel free to slide something else in, PM my Character Journal, or PP me on my Plurk to brainstorm something else)

He crouches, knees around his ears, and reaches out to pet Curly. It's then that he hears Dolly's dismay.
"It's alright! I've never seen a Pokemon like this before, what is it?"
Yay the Pumpkin King :"D
"Thank goodness, I'm sorry about that, Curly got ahead of me there for a moment. I think he's called a 'Fidough' or at least that's what I understood from the mini computer I got?"
Yep, Curly has other plans and he goes to rub up against Jack for pets. He is clearly the best puppy ever and demands affection. This be an attention sponge of a pupper..

"That's a perfect name," he says. Then he looks up to Dolly and thinks about how she referred to the Poke'Gear. He wonders if she's new, but he doesn't want to single her out and make her feel awkward.
He stands and opens the door for them, waving for Dolly to go first. "Are you here to see the miniatures exhibit too?"
Jack loved to read and learn, but he had heard that there was an exhibit in the library on miniature houses created by people all across Johto and even Kanto.

Dolly smiles softly and warm, "Thank you, Curly just has that little curly twirly sort of movement when he gets excited for things." Like Jack, Dolly was missing her Familiars back home too, hoping they were doing alright.
That was all Dolly needed to hear to be on board, "I didn't know about the miniatures exhibit, I'd like to go check that one out if that's alright by you?"
Initially Dolly had come for some information gathering, usually to get a better footing in new places, but the miniatures did catch her attention and was more than happy to check that one out.

Once they are inside, it's easy to find the exhibit. There are several tables set up with velvet ropes around them to keep the tiny buildings safe. There are houses and Pokemon Centers and office buildings, almost any kind of building you could think of, all recreated with everything from specifically carved wood to things that would be considered trash.
Jack has to bend down low to see into one of the little houses. He's seen doll houses, sure, and his beloved was a doll, but he's never seen anything created like this! It gives him an idea for his haunted house...
"They even have a sleeping Growlithe in this tiny basket by the fire. I think they used real fur."
no subject
With Curly in Dolly's arm, She goes to take a good close look inside the building Jack had pointed out in awe. Look at that tiny sleeping Growlithe, she had to agree, that had to have been real fur used.
"It's so well detailed and has such a cozy atmosphere to the scenery. I love seeing miniatures like it, they're such a beautiful still life right there."
Dolly's pupils start to dilate in amazement and adoration, it's rather adorable to see in person. Thankfully, its the normal level of dilation rather than the saucers.

But it's a hill he's willing to climb. Even if almost everyone is gone.
He turns to face her. "Forgive me if this is out of line, but are you new?"
no subject
She had almost said 'existence', but thankfully Dolly caught herself. One disaster narrowly avoided! Dolly earned that metaphorical pat on the back for that one.
"May I ask, what was the miniature tower there? It looks pretty adorable."
no subject
Jack sighs.
"I wish I had seen it in its glory. I actually rehomed some of the Pokemon that were displaced. I'm on my way to a ranch I'm told they're waiting for me at. Would you...like to travel together?"
no subject
It hit a bit close to what Dolly was going through herself, but it's not like she was going to say it aloud. She does, however, perk up at Jack.
"That's a relief to hear they got rehired by you, it had to have been hard on the Pokemon to lose a life long home like that." There's a pause for a moment upon hearing the offer, "I'd love that, I wouldn't mind traveling with you to retrieve your Pokemon."

Curious, very curious...what was Johto? Then again, new world, new countries to be learned, Dolly offered a bright smile at her new found friend in this strange world. Maybe things aren't so bad?
no subject
He moves to inspect another part of the exhibit, happy to talk with Dolly as long as she likes.

"I do, I'm still learning and still figuring things out as I go. What's Kanto and Johto like in general? How do evolutions work?"
Dolly goes to follow Jack along for the exhibition, she was thrilled to have made a new friend with him. He was incredibly kind and outgoing as Dolly smiles along, enjoying the exhibit with good company.

Probably because their very existence is a bit of a phenomenon and it would cause world-wide panic. Or maybe it was just because of the ledges.
Jack continues on in an excited, but informative tone. He remembers when he taught a few classes in the summer. That had been fun. "A Pokemon's level raises as it grows stronger. When a Pokemon reaches a certain level, it evolves. Some Pokemon evolve with stones or other evolution items. It seems like several more have been discovered since I was here last. My Pokedex feels so empty now!"
no subject
This did raise many possible answers, some that made Dolly a little uneasy to even confront just yet. Time to distract herself from worrying answers, let's focus on Pokemon instead! It felt like she was back on campus for a bit, Dolly had enjoyed lectures such as these before.
"That's amazing, do they all evolve or do some stay the same form? Back home, evolution would take an eon or so to happen, but it's amazing they're able to do so at such a fast pace." Dolly goes to look at Curly and Mead for a moment, wondering what they'd look like if they evolved too..

Sure he's talked to Radly like once, but he considers him a friend.

"What does Eevee look like? The name is incredibly adorable and congratulation on getting to adopt one, that's pretty exciting right there."
no subject
Jack pulls out his Poke'Gear and swaps over to the PokeDex function. He scrolls for a little while and finally brings up the entry on Eevee.
It isn't fully filled out since he hasn't caught one, but the picture is there all the same.
"I'm going to evolve mine into Umbreon." He clicks a few entries over and reveals the Moonlight Pokemon with its serious red eyes.
no subject
OH! That is a little cutie! It's like a little fox puppy of some kind with the little toffee fur and cream fluff. Okay that is pretty precious and Dolly can see why Jack was excited to adopt one. The paws made Dolly think of cookies for some reason, not exactly sure why though.
"It's absolutely darling, I can see why you're excited for the adoption." So that's an Umbreon, that one looks intense and smart, Dolly's pupils keep being a decent size of amazement. "Umbreon looks lovely too, look how bright those eyes are too."

Maybe if Dolly's in luck, she could get materials needed to make the paper mache vintage pumpkins.

"I think it would. You are going to love it here, I can't wait to show you everything."
Here we go, I think this is a good wrap up tag X3c
"I'm looking forward to that one, thank you for helping me out. I honestly wasn't expecting being here in a whole new world."
She left out 'again' as Dolly goes to hang out with Jack for the exhibit.
