for the sake of this i am pretending that bert's aron is fully evolved
His Aggron stops when Bertolt does, his massive head swiveling in the direction of the voice (and with his height, he's even able to see what's going on) and rumbles softly to get his trainer's attention back on him. When Bertolt gives him a curious look, the Aggron doesn't hesitate to duck down and throw Bertolt over his head and onto his back, earning a sharp yelp as he scrambles up high enough to grab both of the Aggron's horns. It waits just long enough for Bertolt to get a good grip, but as soon as he does? He takes off running in Historia (and Ymir's) direction.]
Reiner, stop! Reiner!
[NO, TOO LATE. HE HEARD THE NAME BERTOLT WOULD TALK ABOUT ALL THE TIME, THE SCARY GIRL KNOWN AS YMIR.]
no subject
And that Aggron certainly does look intimidating, but Historia can hear the poor kid screaming on its back, and oh no she recognizes that scream...!]
Stop!
[And once more proving just how crazy she can be like on the roof of Castle Utgard, she throws herself between the two Pokemon. At the very least, she can stop Ymir from attacking again...!]

Bertolt on the other hand is nearly flung forward, but it's only thanks to bracing one foot on the back of his Aggron's forearm that he doesn't. Still, he ends up hitting his head against the plating on his back, and-- Oh, that's going to bruise later. It's like trying to ride a smaller, rowdier Armored Titan with less shoulder room. He's okay, give him a minute to catch his breath here--]
K-Krista--?
[--Oh, no. He sees that steam. Bertolt reaches his hand down and hooks his fingers along the inside of the Aggron's upper jaw and yanks up - it's nowhere near enough to hurt him (Bertolt would have to be a much bigger Aggron to do that), but it's enough to get those red-gold eyes to focus on him rather than Ymir.]
Reiner. Back down.
no subject
Hey, it's okay again. See? [But Ymir still looks pretty tense, and not even Historia's soft words can calm her. So Historia huffs and stretches up, giving her a more firm bop on the nose this time.] C'mon, listen to me! He's a friend. I've told you about them!
[That... well Ymir just seems more shocked that she got hit again, so while she doesn't quite calm down, she knows her trainer means business. With a thud she finally sits back, but she keeps her eyes on Reiner and Bertolt.]
Geez... I-I'm really sorry about that. She wasn't this aggressive when she was smaller...

[Are we good now, Reiner? We good? Yeah, we're good.
He's thankful that after he evolved the first time, he more or less mellowed out from the tantrums he'd have as an Aron. Bertolt doesn't want to imagine how bad they'd be as a Larion, let alone Aggron, especially when he's bigger than average too. Nobody needs a titan-sized Pokemon that weighs a little over half a ton having tantrums.
Still, Bertolt doesn't take his hand away from his Aggron's mouth, even after he dismounts from his back. Having Marcel grab and toss him on his back is one thing, but having Reiner fling him up and over with his horns or his mouth? That's just terrifying.]
T-That's you, isn't it? Krista?
no subject
[They're the ones that can understand that most, with the fear of giant man-eating monsters so ingrained in each and every one of them.
There's another beat, during which she drums her fingers against Ymir's snout. They'd only just met up, and in such a shaky situation, so it might not be a good idea to drop this on Bertolt now, but... mm. It's gotta come out soon, right?]
It is, yes. But, um... I'd like to correct you on something.
no subject
Keeping one hand by his mouth and flattening his palm against the sharp edges that count as teeth, he reaches up to hook his fingers into the deep grooves that encircle his horns to coax him to lie down. Even when he's flat on the ground, he's still huge, but harmless now that Bertolt found his sweet spots.
Just wait until he starts rolling him around.]
...What is it?
no subject
It's still a little... nerve-wracking, being so open now. But she has to. She promised.]
My name... my real name. [She's not sure if Bertolt remembers everything that happened on the roof of Utgard, so he might not get where this is coming from... but oh well.] It's not Krista. It's Historia. Historia Reiss.
no subject
Bertolt tilts his head a little, his brows furrowed. Historia... Reiss? From the sounds of it, it should be important, but the name isn't ringing any bells. Such is the struggle of a poor boy from a "small mountain village", right?]
...Were you trying to hide from someone?
[Because Bertolt can understand that! Sometimes he wished he could change his name and start over somewhere, but... They were all so young. They are still young, so something bad had to have happened for her to hide her real identity.]
