[By the time Armin speaks up, Ymir is practically purring as Historia scratches her under the chin. And unlike with certain other people, the Tyranitar doesn't snap at him. Probably because he doesn't run at the pair screaming like a maniac.]

I don't think it's anything special... this is what we're supposed to be doing, isn't it? [Him more than her, since he's a trainer and she's a breeder.] Besides, it's not that different from dealing with the horses back home.

[Just because everybody else doesn't have the good sense god gave a pillbug doesn't mean Armin has to be like that. He's been getting better at it here, but large animals have always been somewhat intimidating to him. It's just that even if they mean well, a wrong move could easily lead to injury.

(though somehow, Amber had never intimidated him for even a moment. Maybe her largeness was just so great it overloaded any sense of intimidation?)]

The horses back home generally can't breathe fire.

[Not that tyranitars can either, but he just means it as a general comment on pokemon abilities while his fingers itch to find his gear and find out exactly what sort of abilities tyranitars do have.]

[Even before joining the military and seeing just how capable their specially-trained horses were, she knew that. Back on the farm, there was always some hotshot farmhand thinking he could break the biggest and baddest of the new horses, only to be trampled under their hooves a moment later. It was never a pretty sight.

There's another pause, because... wait. It sounded like he was joking, but...]

... Are there really horses that breathe fire here?

[Seeing as the Tyranitar with Krista seems to remain calm, Armin chances a few steps closer.]

There are. They are called Ponyta. Their manes and tails are made of fire, though it won't burn you if they trust you.

[Juuust a little closer. Look, he is none-threatening, okay? He even looks a little like Krista, won't that work to his advantage?]

Eren had one, though it has evolved into a Rapidash by now.

Made of... fire... oh my, that would certainly be a sight to see.

[The careful approach seems to be working, and all Ymir does is lean forward to sniff Armin. She takes her time, sniffing from head to foot, before pausing to look him right in the eye....

And snort right in his face, blowing his hair back. To this, Historia just laughs.]

I think that means she likes you.

[Armin looks more than a bit apprehensive over this Tyranitar apparently liking him. Hopefully it won't be expecting chin scratches from him.]
