OK so...I headcanon that as the Vault Hunter picked themselves up out of the snow and dragged their sorry asses to Claptrap's house Gaige was immediately impressed by the shirtless wonder and his ability to just shrug off how cold it was. Jokes were probably made about dangerously pointy nipples.

Over time Krieg, like the other vault hunters became Gaige's new family. She looks at Krieg like an older brother who has embraced anarchy so much that his brain is in literal anarchy. He is so friggin' bad ass that it's scary and it probably took her a few weeks (How long do we figure the game takes? Months?) before she was fairly sure he wouldn't one day snap and kill them all.

Arriving it such a peaceful (mostly) but interesting world full of monsters is one thing. Gaige can handle a world where shooting isn't the primary form of problem solving. She lived in society before she can live in it again.

But Pandora has changed her. Taught her what it really means to be hardcore. Krieg is a reminder of that. Krieg took the worst Pandora had to offer and screamed in it's face. And now here he is living among others and making it work.

Gaige adores her smelly, solid slab of beef in a gas mask older brudder figure. Tina can keep Brick, Gaige has Krieg and will do her best to keep up with him when he flies off the rails no matter the cost to her own sanity.

Even Gaige has to admit, her attraction to him might have some kind of weird sideways electra complex thing. Stay with us here!

With his square jaw, sarcasm and military backround, she thinks of him kind of like a young Axton, her surrogate father figure among the vault hunters. She will quickly find out that Jean is no where near as badshit crazy as Axton is (Because to be a vault hunter you gotta have a certain level of don't give a fuck when it comes to mowing down hundreds of humans daily (Possibly in a matter of hours)

But he's nice and she enjoys knowing she can fluster him. If she ever actually started to consider him as a romantic interest she'd get totally awkward and weirded out because, how do I teenage girl?

But there's plenty of time for her to learn about the real man behind the good looks!

Oh great this guy

So he knows he has to be on polite terms with Envy...but he's still extremely wary of him and knows that Envy can be kind of petty too. If it wasn't for his Pokemon, he'd avoid him. I'm not entirely sure how the Bell Tower thread would have gone or how it'd have effected their relationship. He has no idea how similar they are in certain ways and mostly views him as Henry's housemate. We need to toss them more at each other if we can!

He's hasn't formed a strong opinion of Jean yet. He seems pleasant enough. Walter knows there's a lot he's not seeing with Jean but given how he agreed with him that humans are bastards, it suggests that he knows or at least has experiences tough times and can understand Walter's world view, which is always a plus. And he cares for his Pokemon; he was happy to see how Wagner was at the bonfire.

Jean is definitely more than just a random stranger to Walter and he is curious about Jeans past, but still doesn't feel like he could reveal much about himself to him yet.

While it's probably not obvious because Newt is Newt, he's curious about Jean, too, since he comes from Armin's world. (And what he knows about said world is both fascinating and a bit horrifying to him.)

He's a little unsure about Jean because encouraging that behavior in a Mimikyu is no way to handle it getting upset at Pikachus!! But he also knows that sometimes you just can't help how a creature is. He seems nice enough, though there's something about him that gives off the vibe of some of the more..rough and tumble individuals Newt dealt with in school. (The people he tried to avoid because Newt + people in general is just not always a good mix.)

Still, any friend of Armin is someone he's willing to give the benefit of the doubt to!

Yes he does! Especially since Cecil put a lot of work into making it a thinky Gym. He hopes the effort will be appreciated~!

Jinx thinks Rakka is too innocent for her own good. She'll give the girl credit for being perceptive enough to peg her as the same Team Rocket grunt who tried to rob her...but she also won't be giving her that much credit because she's pretty sure she can just keep playing dumb and eventually Rakka will give it up.

She thinks Rakka is cute enough, but too pure to hang around with the likes of her and her naughty friends. She'll keep up the social circle if only to give herself some credit if anyone asks if she has any friends that aren't sassy and sarcastic.

Bert is Jean and Armin's friend and therefore automatically OK in Krieg's book. Also all of his Pokemon are enormous and glorious and that's just another point in his favor.

Personally speaking, of the AoT kids Bert's the one Krieg knows least well, which is kind of making it difficult to tl;dr. :'D He's totally down to get to know him better, though! He seems more like Jean than like Armin personality-wise, inasmuch as he doesn't jump a mile every time Krieg fidgets. Also he seems like a pretty sturdy guy. Is he up for some tag-team and/or free-for-all monster wrestling?

Armin is a bro. A small, nervous, intelligent bro. Although as the months have passed Krieg has noticed Armin has grown significantly less nervous and more confident, and he's proud of him for that.

(He doesn't really have the self-awareness to realize that Armin's nervousness when they were first getting to know each other was 100% his fault).

He likes Armin, and enjoys talking to him. It's fun to watch him nerd out over Pokemon, because he's so enthusiastic and genuine about it.

Hey buddy!

Krieg worries about Shiro. Which is weird. It's weird to worry about people. And yet here he is. Worried. His initial impression of "this guy needs an adult" has not changed in the year (!) they've known each other, and it's really difficult to pin down why. It may be trauma recognizing trauma, though what Krieg went through is probably nothing at all like whatever Shiro's experienced. But something resonates there nonetheless.

It's a little hard to tell since they don't spend a lot of time together, but he thinks Shiro's relaxed a little bit since he got here. The stick up his ass has worked its way out a bit, or something. And he's really glad for it, because Shiro's a good guy, and he deserves to relax and take it easy!
