Newt | Aliens
[Newt is exploring when she comes to a large body of water, then stops. Her starter pokemon, a large Growlithe stands next to her, protectively as she looks out at it.]
I wish I could swim. But....what if there's monsters in there. Maybe I could swim faster than them.
[Network]
[There is a camera pointed at ....an egg. On a dirt road. Yes it's a normal pokemon egg on a normal dirt road. Newt is holding her pokegear, while hiding....on her stomach....underneath a bush? Yes, the screen is on her again and she is hiding underneath a bush.]
There's an egg out there. ......it might not be evil. But maybe I should smash it....just to be sure...
Video
[You. Probably can't anyway?]
Video
But what if there's really a monster inside? How do we know they only have pokemon in them.....
Video
Oh. Um. ...I've been here for over two years now and I've never heard of any monsters but Pokemon coming out of eggs like that. And if it's not, your Pokemon should still be able to handle it?
Video
Maybe....they don't like fire. The monsters from home, I mean. But if it gets on my face when the egg opens and it jumps out, then it's too late for me. And then that just makes it grow bigger and it'll go after other people when I'm dead.
[Yes this girl is seven.]

[Congrats Newt, you've found the first 'kids dealing with monsters' universe she's heard of that sounds worse than Remnant.]
Well. You're safe here, I promise. The monsters don't follow us here, none of them. ...I mean except the Pokemon and most of them are really really nice.
[Except those really weird weekends but things aren't nearly weird enough for it to be one of those right now? ...She probably shouldn't mention the Really Weird Weekends just yet.]

[She pauses. Thinking over what the girl said.]
They seem nice....the pokemon. Even if they do come from eggs. ...I just don't like eggs.
[She just keeps having nightmares that Ripley didn't get to her before the facehugger in the egg got her, like it got her father....like it got so many people.]
no subject
[You should be at least fifteen before dealing with horrible killing monstrosities, what's wrong with your world.]
...Do you know what route you're on? Someone could come and pick up the egg.
no subject
Ripley said I was brave too....but I just hid so the monsters couldn't get me.
[Evil corporations is always the answer in, what is wrong with her world.]
Um....I think I'm still on the first route. When you wake up....I could look at the machine the weird lady gave me.
[Network]
It's going to turn into an animal, and the animal will probably be your friend.
[Lo and behold, there is ANOTHER raggedy homeless-looking child on the screen, nodding earnestly.]
Most of my friends came from those.
[Network]
What if it's not my friend?
[Network]
But I've never seen an egg turn into an animal that wasn't my friend.
Not even Mad! She bites me all the time, but that's just because she can't see and has 'anger management issues'. She can't help it.
[He bends out of the frame, then straightens back up with a snapping, snarling shiny Deino, which waves its stubby legs and makes disgruntled croaking noises.]
This is Mad! She's my daughter.
[BEAM.]
[Network]
Still standing far away from the egg.]
......she's not trying to kill you?
[Network]
[He says, almost blandly, as the little beast clamps her jaws down on his shirt sleeve and yanks it back and forth viciously, still growling.]
