["Worse" evident by whatever caused the traces of scars along her legs, no doubt. There's small ones that look like scratches from rough and tumble kid stuff, sure, but then...there's ones that look like claws, teeth marks, burns. Not something generally found on teenagers.
But she's fine.]
I don't want to be a bother.

[Not really reassuring? Sorry he's worried already.]
No it's not a bother. Just wait there. I'll be right back.

[Now this poor man is troubling himself because he happened to catch onto her adventures! It's weird how attentive adults are in Johto--her own father would have been concerned like that, of course, but most others would leave it to her to handle it. That is how a Death City kid does things.
Though he did ask her to "wait there"--would ignoring that and jumping anyway be disobeying an adult? It's not like he can ground her or send her to a dungeon, even if the inclination to obey is still stronger than be independent.]
I should've just jumped right away.
[That morbid thought spoken aloud brought to you by no mental filter.]

Alright. Try climbing down the shelves and onto the ladder. I'll hold it still, so it won't fall.
[Sorry, he's in dad mode.]
