Poison Ivy | DC Comics (Nu 52)
Ivy stands by the shore of Cherrygrove, her Bulbasaur laid beside her feet, basking in the afternoon sun as its Hoppip teammate rides the ocean waves. Ivy herself has the expression of puzzling out something, looking between the Flabébé floating infront of her and the device in her hand.
"Realistically, this is my own fault. I shouldn't have just assumed that you were a Grass type simply because you held a flower. It is rather obvious you are simply holding the bloom."
The Flabébé lets out a pleasant noise and sways back and forth.
"Though it does say here you hold a special relationship with the flower you choose. And there are theories that you and the flower share a symbiotic."
She peers are the large red bloom.
"That would explain why it never wilts."
Text
Hello there everyone. So I have been doing some reading and it appears there is a whole sub division of these creatures based on plant life. Referred to as 'Grass', I believe? I'm not entirely sure how accurate is it to name a whole diverse sub species after Poaceae but I am a little out of my element here. Speaking of which, I would be very interested in collecting a vast array of specimens that fall into this 'Grass typing'. So, if anyone would be kind enough let me know where I could get some.
ACTION!
"Oh hey, is this one yours?" He asked, smiling and waving to Ivy as he approached her. At his side is a midday Lycanroc, Cú, who is wagging ehr tail and bounding alongside him.
Then he spotted the Bulbasaur. "Oh shit, hey! Wow you're like...a dinosaur with a flower on your back? Don't that hurt?"
no subject
The Bulbasaur looks up at Ash and lets out a contented 'Saur' before closing its eyes and going back to soaking up the sunshine.
Her trainer, meanwhile, is looking at the canine beside Ash. "You have wolf, I see."
no subject
"I've seen Hoppips before, they're really cute. But I never seen one of these. What'd ya name 'em?"
no subject
Ivy crouches for a moment to stroke the top of the Bulbasaur's head. "This species appears to be called Bulbasaur. Which, is a rather apt if not crude name. I've decided to name her Tyler."
She gestures to the Flabébé. "And I'm afraid I haven't quite chosen a name for her yet."
no subject
Well, he was assuming she liked flowers given she had quite a few grass types already and could give them names to do with their species or specific types of dandelion. "Well, it's nice to meet all of ya! I only got one grass type myself and I ain't smart enough to come up with a clever herbology kinda name for her."
no subject
He peaks her interest with the mention of a Grass Pokemon. "May I see her?"
no subject
"This is Psychopump! She's adorable, right?" Ash didn't know shit about flowers but you didn't need to know anything about plants to know that his Pumpkaboo is pretty damn cute, okay.
no subject
Flabébé greets it cheerfully whilst the other two continue their own business.
She leans closer to coo over the creature like it was an infant. "And where did you find such a cutie?"
no subject
"I found her at this haunted tower kind of place; she's part Ghost, so that's probably why she was hanging out there! It's in Violet City."
no subject
She reaches out her hand slowly to see if the Pumpkaboo will accept the touch as she looks up at Ash. "An unusual name choice."
no subject
Psychopump didn't bite. She smiled and accepted the petting, even floating up a little so she could get chin scratches just where she wanted them.
no subject
She straightens up. "With all these little friends does that mean you've been here long?"
no subject
He gave Ivy a smile. "See what I gotta live with? But so far it seems most of the grass Pokemon I've met are real sweethearts, so they won't go round jabbing you with their thorns or something."
no subject
"Plants rarely have malicious intent. They're wonderfully sweet like that."
no subject
He missed the brow raise at his language. Ash hadn't exactly been taught to not swear. "There's so many to find around here too! I mean, I got a ton; neither of these are the Pokemon I was given when I first came here. Which one's your starter?"
no subject
Ivy gently picks up the green reptile from the sand and pets the top of her head. "This is the little one I was given when I woke up. Yours was different?"
no subject
"This is Danny! He used to be a lot smaller, and he didn't have the spikes he does now. He's great."
no subject
She gives the new arrival a smile. "Interesting. Do you have a preference for canines?"
omg I goofed up I was looking up egg stuff and meant evolved
XD dont worry about it!
Ivy casts her gaze out to the ocean beside them. "I see. And, do you have to find all the creatures you want or can you purchase them?"
:X
"As for evolving like...hold on, I got a picture." He opened his gear and flipped through it, showing Ivy a picture of a bright eyed Riolu. "He looked like this! But one day we were out running and trying out some stuff and afterwards he just became covered in white light and when it cleared, there he was." Ash gestured to the Danny beside him, grinned and flex his arms playfully. Here he is, behold the magnificant Danny the Lucario!
no subject
She looks at the picture and furrows her brow in thought. "So he completely changed appearance?" Sounded less like evolution and more like metamorphosis, which leads to her next question. "These creatures aren't all amphibians or insects, are they?"
no subject
Ash shrugged. Given he had never shone at Biology, it was easy for him to simply roll with 'everything comes from eggs and also here's a living metal ball it will be your friend or it might electrocute you'.

She was used to having adapt her knowledge and having the rules of the universe bent on her, but still throwing out her entire education was going to take a moment.
