It was just suppose to be a little adventure into a cave, see what sort of Pokemon he could find, and then he was going to be on his way. That was all! Wimbly the Eevee and Nunvill the Alola Rattata were with him as always and everything had been going quite well for the group!

Then came the cursing. And the woman running towards him with her Pokemon.

And then the cloud of bats.

"Oh Quiznak!" Coran yelped as he back peddled, Wimbly already turning tail with a squeak and making a break up the path they had taken while Nunvill attempted to dart forward to fight. Her trainer was faster, Coran scooping her up under his arm and turning to run as fast as he possibly could. "Sorry, Nunvill but I believe this fight may be a bit out of our league!" he called out, chancing a glance at the woman who was also fleeing for his life. "What did you do?!"

"They were ganging up on this little guy! It wasn't fair! And frankly? I just don't like bats to begin with!" Harley shouted back clearing a low ridge of rocks with a powerful leap and landing clumsily on the other side. Her Mawile made a more effortless jump and landing while her Snubbull...scrambled up and over it.

As for the "Little Guy" The Spinda did look as though it had seen better days. It was chewed up and it's eyes were spirals...but then again they were always like that.

The swarm was getting closer, it's screeching positively maddening to the point where Snubbull got confused and started howling. Mawhile seized him by the ears and drug him along by her tail.

"What would you have done smart guy?"

Okay. He had to give her that. The Spinda did look pretty bad and it wasn't very nice for a bunch of bats to be ganging up on a helpless Pokemon like that.

"While it's noble of you to want to protect a poor defenseless creature, you could have been a bit more sneaky about the entire thing!" Coran shouted only to yelp a moment later as a Zubat came swooping at his head. The Rattata under his arm squeaked angrily and she managed to get away as Coran let out a cry of "Nunvill!".

She lept towards the approaching colony of bats using Quick Attack followed immediately by Hyper Fang.

It wasn't much but it was something.

"Hurry! While they're distracted! Head for the exit!"

"You try being sneaky with stuff that has natural radar!" Harley shot back side stepping awkwardly around a hole in the ground that dropped down to the lower levels. Her snubbull sprang over it clumsily but her mawile?

It saw the courage and passion in Coran's Rattata and could not let her stand alone. Whirling around the steel type launched herself into the cloud of bats right behind the mouse with a cry of "WILE!"

Her astonishing attack served to confuse the bats more, many of them flinching and falling to the ground in shock.

"Right! Exit! Got it...which way was that again?" Harley called over to Coran.
