[Because-- now that Kazuki looks around, he notices that she's absolutely covered in them. He's never seen so many Flabebe before!]

I wonder if we're in a swarm...

Sort of. These are similar to the fae where I'm from.

[It's said in a rather nonchalant manner, Chise forgetting that most people aren't familiar with the concept.

Several Flabebe drift over to Kazuki now that the initial shock of his appearance has worn off, twilling and chirping as they wave and twirl about his head.]

A swarm...maybe. [Chise lifts a hand to pet a Cottonee that bumps into her head.] I heard those happen often.

Fae? What're those?

[Aww, they're so cute! Kazuki lifts a gentle hand so a Flabebe can settle on his palm. He really likes Fairy types. He has a lot of them on his team.]

Do you mind if I sit? I didn't mean to interrupt anything.

[unwantedgirl]

[Shaking her head, Chise motions for him to side as her Litwick shuffles closer to her legs protectively.]

Fae are magical beings that can conjure magic and can work with mages to let them use their magic as well. There are all kinds of fae. Grims, ariels, banshees...we call them neighbors most of the time, since we share our world with them.

[Several of the Morelulls have come out of hiding and crawl up onto Chise's lap as she talks, bobbing about as she explains the concept of fae.]

The faeries here, and the ghosts, remind me a lot of the Fae back home.

[Kazuki sits down at an appropriate distance. Don't worry little Litwick, he's just friendly to everyone. Some of the Cutiefly gently poke around Puff as if looking for more space to perch in his hair.]

Oh! That's sort of like the creatures in our forklore back home. Yokai and stuff. But I dunno if they're real or not-- if they exist, I've certainly never seen them. But you can see your neighbors?

[It seems to appease the little ghost, for now, and she settles down for now and goes back to glaring at all the fairy types.]

Chise can't help but look surprised, staring at Kazuki as she gently pulls the Cottonee she'd been petting into her lap.]

You're from Japan. [The word he'd used was telling.] I..yes. I can.

[She almost says more but hesitates, arms curling just a bit tighter around the little puff ball in her lap.]

I've always been able to.

Yeah, I am! [So she's from Earth! Or at least, an Earthlike place.] My name's Kazuki. Where're you from? I've never heard of the fairies you were naming.

[unwantedgirl]

I was from Japan. I don't live there anymore though. [Which wasn't for the best.] It's nice to meet you, Kazuki. My name's Chise. [An indignant squeak hasn't her glancing down.] Oh, sorry. This is Wendy and this is Ruthie.

[forsaintcecilia]

Oh! So that's how you knew where I was from! [She probably grew up with the same stories too! Although he didn't assume that she saw the Yokai as well...] It's nice to meet you, Chise, Ruthie, Wendy. This here is Puff. [He points to his head.] I have other Pokemon friends, but they're not with me right now.

Where do you live now?

Yes. [She smiles softly.] We don't have any others traveling with us yet.

[A Cutiefly flies over to zip around Chise's head, squeaking softly at her as a few Flabebe come to join the fun.]

England. Well, outside of England. With a...my new family.

England! Wow, that's exciting. I've never left the country. Do you like it there?

[unwantedgirl]

...I do. It's much better than where I was. I have a place and a purpose now.

[forsaintcecilia]

[...There is something strikingly melancholy about this girl. Kazuki tilts his head just a bit, as if that would help him to understand her better.]

Are you happy?

[Chise blinks.]

[On one side of her, Ruthie chuffs softly while on the other side, closest to Kazuki, Wendy frowns.]

Chise shook her head and offered a faint smile.]

I'm not, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you think I was.
