[Would that be insulting to the pokemon, though?]

I hope I get a dog pokemon one day.

[He smiles to himself at the thought of having a dog of his own.]

[Hank snorts at the name choice but doesn't argue with it.] Feathered rat suits the bastard... [He can see it.]

Alright, I'm getting out of the fucking grass. Getting stickers up to my fuckin' knees. [He means sticky grass seats, burrs, and he's not wrong. He's finding all of them. More than poor Tubbs is, which means someone's going to need a brushing.]

[Well, it looks like the Pidgey is called Reed, then. Poor thing.]

[He steps out of the grass too, though he does pick up his Espurr first, and his Magnemite just floats along behind him.]

Lieutenant? Why do you hate birds so much?

I don't know. They just cover stuff in birdshit and smell bad and they don't have expressions. They have one little beady eye that stares hatefully at you or the other little beady little eye that stares hatefully at you but they can't manage both at once.

[Hate him with both eyes, thank you!]

And they leave feathers and they're noisy.

[He's going to brush at his legs a few times to get some of the clingers off before giving up and deciding to worry about it later.]

So... with the whole human thing. There's nothing you're afraid of, now?

[He has to admit, he is pretty pleased with himself for winning Hank over. Getting Hank to like birds when one just attacked him probably isn't going to happen, though. He tilts his head curiously at the question.]

Hm. I guess you might need something to happen to you first. That's usually where a lot of phobias come from. That and sometimes things are just... I don't know. A little unnatural.

Like how pigeons look at you. Some people don't like how spiders move. Like that.

[He gestures as he explains, and thanks heaven when they reach pavement in the quaint little vacation looking town.]

[He hopes it stays that way. He doesn't want to have to deal with a pointless fear that slows him down.]
