Well, those people are jerks, Bertolt.

[ look it doesn't even cross his mind that there's a romantic implication. admittedly, he's still in the mindset that that's a bad thing to consider - conceal, don't feel. if there's something bertolt and marco unintentionally have in common, it's that.

marco looks down at the pokemon and then back to bertolt with a smile. ]

She, I think. Her name's Viola. Do you have any more samples? I'd love to try one.

I wouldn't say that about all of them.

_{[Annie teases him too, and that's just Annie being Annie. He's not quite used to that yet, but part of him knows she's not wrong. Now if only the rest of him wasn't so stubborn to see it himself.]}

But, uh... I can run back and get some more if you don't mind waiting.

marco gives a little nod and then a shrug. ]

I don't mind waiting. I'm just glad to see a friendly face in all this.

[ he beams at bertolt. ]

_{[Bertolt reaches out to take the harness hidden under all of Marcel's fur and gives it a light tug to get his attention, and with practiced ease he hefts himself up and onto the Arcanine's back. Who needs horses when you've got a dog that's even bigger? And faster, at that!]}

Do, uh... Do you have any preference on what you'd want to try? Or should I bring one of everything I have?

[ ... he's riding the dog. and marco had thought he'd seen everything.

he blinks, taking in the sight, but then smiles. ]

I mean, I wouldn't mind trying one of everything.

Okay, uh... I'll be right back.

<sub>[Once he nudges Marcel into a light trot, he makes it back to the train car in a few minutes. The next ten, fifteen minutes is spent gathering and wrapping two of every item he's baked recently - one for Marco, and another for Viola - as well as grabbing a few extra goodies.

Especially the bag of Marshmallows and his Pokegear.

After organizing it all into a bag, Bertolt climbs back up onto Marcel's back and urges him back towards Marco. He knows he's going to have to talk to Annie later, but right now? He just wants to try and focus on the good. Marco doesn't know, and that works just fine for Bertolt. When he spots Marco he tightens his grip on the bag, lets himself slide from his Arcanine, and steps closer as the Pokemon plows past him to plop down onto his belly in front of Viola with a soft nooooo. He's back, new friend!]</sub>

I would've brought some coffee too, but Jean makes it better than I ever could.

[ viola greets her new friend with a yip and bouncing back in forth in front of him. hello, hello!

marco, meanwhile, smiles at bertolt. he'd kept himself busy cleaning up the mess and quickly coming out viola. when the tall teen comes back, he laughs softly. ]

I'm sure you make them just as well as Jean does, Bertolt. But I'll take your word for it, for now.

[bertall]

I can't, really. All I know how to do is the boring stuff from a coffee pot or instant coffee. Tea too, but I haven't drank a lot of that since I settled in here.

_{[It's coffee or bust for him.]}

Jean has... It's almost like an art and he knows just how I like it. <sub>[And there's also the added bonus of Jean never messing up his name like Starmiebucks! If he sees his name as Berthole one more time he's going to scream. Or kick something. Probably kick something.

After a few moments of hesitation, he offers up his bag.]</sub>

Here, uh... A lot of it was made yesterday so it's still really fresh.

It's probably better than boiling it in a fire pit.

[ that's marco's only experience with it, honestly. when seems happy talking about jean making him coffee, marco smiles a little wider, pleased to see bertolt happier.

when he offers up the bag, he jerks his head towards the bench. ]

Come on, you should feed them to Viola with me. And have some too.

I make it like that sometimes, too. Not as often anymore, but if I'm in Blackthorn I'll usually make it like that at my cabin. I'm still partial to Jean's, though.

_{[Where else is he going to get his vanilla and cinnamon fix? He can't get that from boiling it or from the instant stuff he finds.]}

But, uh... Okay. I've already had breakfast though, so I think I'll be okay for awhile.

_{[Though he may or may not nibble on some of the marshmallows he packed in there. Plus with Marcel he can roast them!]}
