The little blue type pokemon from the plane crash I've been taking care of was out on the deck when we finally saw Articuno. Seemed really happy, which is a first.

Glad that there wasn't a disaster.
[Honestly he would have kicked the hell out of himself for being gone. Even if it wasn't his fault, he would have wanted to be around to help. Though maybe it's for the best that Hank didn't see the giant bird because if anyone would have had a bad encounter with it? It would have been the man scared of birds.]
Who got tossed back? And did they deserve it? [He needs to know where it lies on the range of 'I hope they're not hurt' and 'someone better have laughed'.]

[ Very hard to handle a fear when a giant breathing version of it shows up to roost on a nearby island, it's true. ]
I'll be perfectly honest: I didn't keep track. No injuries were serious, and they'd had to force their pokemon to even get that close. So yes. They deserved it. The more sensible ones were helping cut down on the elements the ship was dealing with.

[He hadn't heard about that bit, just that the credits had a big "Guest Appearances by-" notes included. Though come to think of it, maybe there had been a purpose to those comments he'd heard about the ship not sinking besides the sarcastic observation that 'hooray, not everything went wrong'.]
In some cases I guess pokemon can be a lot damn smarter than their trainers.

[ She thinks of Bertolt with that, and hopes he didn't suffer too much. ]
They can. Different personalities balance each other.

Glad no one went over. [Though if what he remembers about this place is accurate, some mystery water pokemon probably would have saved anyone who did.]
Yeah. I guess I get that.
[He was really happy to get his flower Pokemon back when she came back, and she's infinitely more sweet and cute and personable than he ever has been in his entire life, possibly even as a baby when sweetness is a prerequisite. But she's been one of the best pokemon that he's ended up with.]

[ Not true. But "technically" true. ]
Oh, I'm sure some people did, but the waters were rife with pokemon whose trainers were onboard. No loss of life. Just warmth. And dignity, in a few cases.
[ Pokemon tempering personalities is a phenomena she's witnessed on most every team. Including her own, to different degrees. ]
Welcome back, for what that's worth. Maybe next year's Prom will be likewise pleasant and mildly surprising.

Here's hoping I'll get to see it. I had a date I wanted to take. Guess he gets to wait a whole other year before I can give him the chance.
[He sort of hopes Connor went anyway. He'd have loved to see the legendaries. It'd be a real pity if he missed it. He'd left him a note, encouraging him to go lead a good human life if he disappeared. He still isn't sure how well he followed it.]

As long as you both are around next time, he probably will. Unless he's fickle. In which case, that sucks.
[ Annie wins awards for being great at pep talks. Not. #comfort101 ]

[He's hoping that he's not. That's a relationship turn he'd hate. Though he's always concerned that he's going to be the one that'll fuck everything up on his end.]
I think I got lucky. Mine lasted up until the point I caught a tentacle monster out of the ocean.

[ Says Annie, who'd been tossed on her nose from the start by the miracle called "waking up." ]
Stepped on a dehydrated one. Turns out they're still highly venomous.

[And there's a break between that and him responding because his absent mind has just dumped some of his Pokemon knowledge. All the stress of getting the hell out of Detroit still on him.]
Drapion that Boone has. Last time she was excited to see him she nearly made me throw up because she kept trying to hug me.

I guess I should follow up on how some of those eggs turned out. I wasn't much of a good breeder while I was here before. Seems like I should check back and see how the babies are doing.

[ She honestly has no idea. ]
