Nemean likes playing with Chandrahas's sash. Normally it's all fun and games, but he accidentally batted the hilt with his paw aaaand he's all tied up now.

Oh! I mean...if they were letting them it's probably safe right??

Even a pokemon's gotta know if they're dangerous for others...

So my flesh slowly necrotizing is probably a trick of the light. Got it.

I DON'T THINK THAT'S SOMETHING THE POKEMON IS SUPPOSED TO DO

Okay, Grace and Star put it to sleep. This is fine! Now I just need to skip my arm out of the ribbon and everything will be fine, right?

GET YOUR ARM OUT NOW MAYBE???

[personal profile] conniemaheswaran 2019-11-29 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, that worked!

Now I’m going to huddle in the corner of my tent contemplating how I nearly got all my life force sucked out and wondering how you people live with these things all over the place
insidescoop: (MMMMMM...)

[personal profile] insidescoop 2019-11-29 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[why are you this way,]

I mean I guess it's sorta like how some people live where there's bears? It's probably like that...

I've actually never run into one of those honestly, I only saw one hatch once.
conniemaheswaran: (Worried)

[personal profile] conniemaheswaran 2019-11-29 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Honestly, considering what home was like, I shouldn’t surprised.

But the fact that possessed swords can breed and lay eggs is nevertheless startling.
insidescoop: (Bwueh?)

I mean I kinda gave up on logic right out with how I woke up here.
conniemaheswaran: (Looking)

[personal profile] conniemaheswaran 2019-12-03 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
But everything has some kind of logic. Even crazy things! If you look hard enough, you can find some sort of unifying principle behind ridiculous stuff like, say, haunted swords that are somehow still able to make babies with one another.

The real question is whether you can figure it out before you go crazy...
insidescoop: (Bwueh?)

[personal profile] insidescoop 2019-12-03 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Y'know I feel like just not pushing too hard into finding the logic helps on not going crazy.

Just a thought.

[Riku grins. He likes this one's enthusiasm. The willingness to learn all there is to know.

This'll be fun.]

True or false: ice types resist water.

[Simple start. A warm up, really.]
conniemaheswaran: (I got this)

[personal profile] conniemaheswaran 2019-12-04 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Connie crosses her arms, smirking.]

False! The only thing ice-types resist is themselves, and they're vulnerable to some of the hardest-hitting types too—Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel.

Give me something harder.
islandshore: (cocky)

[personal profile] islandshore 2019-12-04 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Gold star, kid. You're already on the right track.

[Riku chuckles. Definitely a strong first impression. But hmm, harder...

Let's see.]

Say you've been hit by a ton of Mud Slaps from Falkner's flying types and your accuracy's at an all time low. What's a move that never fails?
conniemaheswaran: (Worried)

[personal profile] conniemaheswaran 2019-12-04 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[Connie furrows her brow, cupping her chin with her hand. She thinks for a few moments, eyes darting back and forth.]

Hm... the only one I can think of off the top of my head is Swift. I have a Magnemite in a ball - it didn't seem smart to keep a Steel and Electric Pokemon without a sheath out in a thunderstorm - but I'm not actually sure if it can learn Swift. Reports on that conflict. Maybe I could get a TM, but those are really expensive for the money I make battling right now...

Sean | Zero Time Dilemma

[personal profile] qnundrum 2019-12-14 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[A. Action]

[Behold the Goldenrod Christmas market. Despite December starting on a bit of a dark note, by now the market is in full swing and all the sellers seem determined to make up for the miserable start of the month. There are bright lights and twinkling Christmas trees everywhere. Stalls stand side to side, each offering something more incredible than the next. There are food stalls a plenty, the smells drifting from them enough to make even the most well-fed person feel like they are starving. There are stalls specialising in battle items, trainers having heated discussions in front of them about which held item to pick. And then there are the various gift stalls -- everything from scarves to books to jewellery to toys can be found right here and purchased for that perfect Christmas eve celebration.

And among all of that is a little boy. He looks about ten, though it is a little hard to properly see his face wrapped up as it is in a thick scarf and a pom-pom hat. He stands at the edge of the christmas market, eyes wide as he stares around, barely even able to decide what to look at because it is all so incredible. A little Lillipup dashes around his feet, barking like mad and dashing in and out of the snow. He's normally a much better behaved pup, really! But all the excitement is just... well, it's very exciting.]

Is this... what a christmas market is like?

[B. Action]

[The scene is still Goldenrod, but rather than the Christmas Market, it's one of the city's parks now. It's the perfect place for many of the city's children to enjoy the thick layer of snow that has fallen. Snowmen, women and children have popped out of the ground like mushrooms during fall. One of the hills has been determined to be prime sledding material and happy cheers and laughter drift over it as kids zip down the slope.

One boy sits a bit apart of it, sitting on one of the park benches, a small Lillipup sitting on it besides him. He's watching the other children, leaning forward just a bit as if he'd like nothing more than to dash off the bench and join their fun, but nevertheless he remains seated. It's just that... he doesn't know how this works. He doesn't know how to approach the other children or how to play their games. How does one build a snowman? How do you sled? He just doesn't know and he doesn't know if he ever knew to begin with.

The Lillipup glances from the playing children to the child next to him, finally laying a small paw on the child's leg.]

[C. Network]

[A small boy peers into the camera. He's got brown hairs and dark eyes, and looks to be about ten years old. Very tiny. Very small.]

Uhm, I have a question.

When a mom and a dad have a baby, how do they pick a name? There are so many names out there. How do they know they are picking the right one?

[Perhaps not the sort of question you expect out of a ten year old, but from the earnest and serious way he's peering into the camera, it's clear that this question, for whatever reason, is very important to him.]
sitdownbecider: (Say that again.)

Applejack | My Little Pony

[personal profile] sitdownbecider 2019-12-29 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
action
[It's late at night and your eyes may be drawn to a young blonde woman in a cowboy hat staggering down the street. Stumbling like a newborn deer, she carefully takes one step at a time, knees trembling and buckling as she continues this never-ending struggle against gravity. A tiny, berry-shaped creature bounces in circles around her, letting out a number of concerned squeaks.

At first glance, you might think this woman to be heavily intoxicated. No one walks like that unless it's their first day on two legs. But when she stops to address the pokemon, her words are surprisingly coherent, draped in a heavy southern accent.]

I dunno what you're complaining about. [She pauses to brace herself against the brick wall behind her.] I can't just bounce around town like you can.

[Maybe her feet weren't planted right, or maybe her pushoff was a little overzealous, but when the woman goes to move away from the wall she ends up flat on her face. She'll lay there, groaning for a second before sitting back up, hands balled into fists with frustration written on her face. Maybe you approach her willingly after she falls, or maybe she turns in your direction to ask for help.]

Hey, give a gal a hand, won't you Sugarcube?

network
I've about had it up to here with pokemon sneaking into my orchard and eating my crops. It's bad enough that harvest yields are low this time of year, but how in the hay am I going to turn a profit when every time I turn around another bushel's got half a dozen Applin making themselves at home?

Reckon I might just go get some fairy types do patrols, or something.

Of course, AJ.

[Oh, thank goodness. It's a familiar voice. And face. And... well, everything, at this point. Twilight laughs lightly as she kneels down to offer her friend her hands. Memories of Pokeworld (or whatever it's called) may be a little fuzzy at the moment, but she knows where they are.

It's Canterlot High that's to credit for her ability to brace herself properly as she helps Applejack to her feet.
]

Wow... does it feel strange to be like this again.
sitdownbecider: (This is just silly.)

[personal profile] sitdownbecider 2019-12-29 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[She can't begin to describe how relived she feels when it's Twilight that responds. Being in this weird world, in these weirder bodies is bad enough. At least she doesn't have to endure it alone.

It's almost difficult to recognize her at first, but as the old memories begin to fall into place, she can at least focus on that familiar voice. For now, she'll just focus on not pulling her friend down with her as she slowly works her way back to her feet.]

Yeah, real nostalgic, ain't it. [You can really sense the enthusiasm in her voice.]

Well, I'm not gonna say I never missed this place, but I was hoping that if I ever saw it again, I'd do it in my real body.
friendyousohard: (My hair static requires further study)

[personal profile] friendyousohard 2019-12-29 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think that was ever an option, I'm afraid. Much like when I go to Canterlot High, being human is part of the package here.

[She shrugs apologetically, but honesty is the best policy, as Applejack herself would surely say.]

I'm a little more concerned as to where... everyone is.

[Everyone meaning their Pokemon, in this case. The only one she seems to have now is the curious little Deino poking her head out around her left leg to peer at AJ.]
sitdownbecider: (Error 404 Apples Not Found)

[personal profile] sitdownbecider 2019-12-30 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh! New friend! AJ's bounsweet bounds between her trainer's legs, rolling into the side of Twilight's shoe to stop her momentum. She pauses, shaking her head to gain her focus, before happily bouncing up and down in front of the little dragon. Hi! Hiii!!]

Reckon this place ain't gonna let you come and go so easily.

[But Twilight's words take her out of that thought, her hand instinctively going down to her belt, where her pokeballs once were. Gone, save for the one ball that presumably belonged to the excitable little fruit beneath her.]

Dang it, where could they have gone off to? I know it wasn't exactly yesterday we were here but they gotta be somewhere right?
friendyousohard: (You lost me.)

[personal profile] friendyousohard 2019-12-30 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
[The Deino leans in to sniff, pulling back a bit as an errant bounce accidentally smacks her in the nose. She shakes her head, and leans back in again, undeterred.]

I wish we could just find a mirror that let us hop back and forth between this world and our own.

[Or some other sort of portal, whatever. It didn't matter how they got here, really.]

Whenever someone goes home from this world, their Pokemon divide up between people they know, right? Do you think we've still got friends here they might have gone to?
sitdownbecider: (Y'see... it's like this.)

[personal profile] sitdownbecider 2019-12-30 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Smacking the Deino's nose sends the Bounsweet tumbling backwards, but that she seems particularly upset about it. In fact, she lets out some playful squeaks that almost sound like giggling as she rolls.]

I ain't sure. It's been a long while, who knows who'd still be around. For all we know, they've all been released back into the wild at this point.

...Sweet apples that means Dozer's on the loose somewhere, don't it?
