Human she may be now, but Cassandra still has fast enough reflexes to catch the woman before she falls... though she does find herself missing her old strength keenly as she drags her back onto safe ground. "Are you all right?"

Her Type: Null watches from a short distance away, sparkling in the light.

"Yeah! I'm fine!" She grins gleefully at the woman holding onto her overall straps, putting her hands on the top railing again. "This place is really tall, isn't the view great?"

There's a shuffling of one giant ponytail, that the woman seems to be ignoring, and an Impidimp pokes out its head and one arm a moment later with a relieved sigh.

Cassandra is suddenly and painfully reminded of another young woman with pigtails smiling brightly as she enthusiastically holding forth on some topic or other that Cassandra can no longer quite remember. She forces the memory back; there's no reason to burden this stranger with something like that. "...Yes."

The Type: Null seems to be a bit closer now, although it doesn't appear to have otherwise moved.

Entrapta smiles politely when this new woman doesn't say anything else. She has striking colouration, the likes of which she hasn't seen here before, certainly not in this intensity of whiteness - she's about to comment on it, opens her mouth to, but then her eyes drift up to the Type: Null, and suddenly brighten with excitement.

"Oh. My. Gosh. Who's this beauty?" She's very nearly pushing past Cassandra to take the helmet in both hands, bouncing around on her toes as best she can to examine the Pokemon properly. "Hello, there! I'm Entrapta!" Said very much to the Type: Null, rather than Cassandra.

[personal profile] fearinahandfulof 2020-05-24 12:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Cassandra is somehow not surprised at this reaction.

Unfortunately, the Type: Null is, and it immediately jerks out of Entrapta's hold, backing away and emitting something like a growl. Cassandra grimaces, moving towards the Pokemon herself in hopes of calming it. "This is Blade," she tells the woman. "It's a Type: Null... I think humans create them in labs? Or created them, at least. It... doesn't really like being grabbed onto like that."

"Oooooh." She pulls her hands back close to her chest - and pauses awkwardly, like she's expecting something to happen for a moment. Before she just takes a step closer to Blade, putting her hands behind her back and entwining her fingers to try and restrain herself. "Oh, that's fascinating. She must be an incredibly advanced creature, to be artificially created and still display such efficacy of form." She's circling Blade now, crouching down to examine her feet. "Her joints are all seamless!"
fearinahandfulof: (Dismayed)

[personal profile] fearinahandfulof 2020-05-24 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Efficacy?

"I'm not really sure how they do it." And honestly, she's not sure she wants to know; it would probably bring back memories, and while losing herself in the pain of those memories won't make her Awaken here, it would still be unpleasant at best, and make Blade and the others worry besides.
firstonesexpert: (you see all this shit)

"I'm not familiar with artificially-created biological experimentation myself-" she peers around Blade and beams at Cassandra. "-all my work in that department is purely theoretical and mostly revolves around how to integrate technology into organic forms. Or to create technology that can functionally pass as organic. It's all very complicated, I've been doing it my entire life!"

She certainly seems... passionate, about her work.
fearinahandfulof: (Endangered)

[personal profile] fearinahandfulof 2020-05-24 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"Integrating... tehcnology... into organic forms?" Organic meaning... not technological? Like them?
firstonesexpert: (hiding behind the mask)

[personal profile] firstonesexpert 2020-05-24 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"Right! Stuff like power suits or exoskeletons that can be used to supplement physical deformations, I've already done some work into that field before!"

She pulls her hands out from behind her back, but instead of touching Blade she instead grabs one of her ponytails and drags it over her shoulder in front of her. "I've, uh. I would also like to be able to use my hair again. I miss that."
fearinahandfulof: (Watchful)

[personal profile] fearinahandfulof 2020-05-24 12:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"Power suits?" Exoskeletons she actually does at least partially understand, since many Awakened Beings tended to take on insectoid forms or aspects, but she suspects that's not what this woman means.

She vaguely remembers catching a glimpse of another warrior using her hair in battle while she'd been fighting Roxanne, so the idea of someone being able to manipulate her own hair isn't quite so confusing. "This place makes everyone human," she says, "with a human's normal capabilities. It's... disorienting."
firstonesexpert: (oOOOH)

[personal profile] firstonesexpert 2020-05-24 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Suddenly there's a megawatt smile back on her face. "It's a highly advanced single-operator technological system that protects a user and allows them to perform enhanced physical feats, as well as carry a variety of automatic weapons on them at all times!"

She's not going to slow her roll unless you specifically ask, Cassandra. Sorry about that.
fearinahandfulof: (Closeup)

[personal profile] fearinahandfulof 2020-05-24 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Cassandra thinks about that for a moment. "So... it's increasing someone's abilities from without instead of within?"
firstonesexpert: (can i ask you something)

[personal profile] firstonesexpert 2020-05-24 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Exactly!" She flicks her ponytail back over her shoulder and puts both hands on Blade's side, pushing up on her toes again to look at the Type: Null's helmet from behind. She's distracted. "This helmet is a fascinating design to be using as a creature's cranial form. It appears to be encasing the form more than supporting it, like it's not perfectly flush with whatever's underneath."
fearinahandfulof: (Worry)

[personal profile] fearinahandfulof 2020-05-24 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Blade again jerks and attempts to move away from the contact. You're not its human, Entrapta; you don't get to touch. "It's meant to contain and limit its power. I don't think it was designed with their comfort in mind. I... guess it comes off when they decide they truly trust and like you? I haven't been here long enough for that to happen."
firstonesexpert: (polite stare)

[personal profile] firstonesexpert 2020-05-24 01:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Right right, no touchy. She pulls her hands back sharply when Blade jerks away, and holds her hands close to her chest again, before tucking them behind her back again. "Well that doesn't seem very efficient."
fearinahandfulof: (Battle lull)

[personal profile] fearinahandfulof 2020-05-24 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Efficient is not the word Cassandra would use. "I think they were thinking more of what it could do than how it would feel."
firstonesexpert: (i know i'm not good at this)

[personal profile] firstonesexpert 2020-05-27 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
"I mean, that's definitely one way to view technology, but..." She looks up at Blade again, and there's a sympathetic angle to her gaze this time. "You should care about your work. If it doesn't like you, that shows a complete failure to truly empathise with what you're creating. I'd hate it if one of my robots hated me."

And this time offers one hand, carefully, for Blade to reject at its own pace, instead of bucking her off.
fearinahandfulof: (Closeup)

[personal profile] fearinahandfulof 2020-05-27 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Cassandra is quiet for a long moment. "You... want your creations to like you?" And it seems fairly obvious that this is not an academic question for Cassandra.
firstonesexpert: (can i ask you something)

[personal profile] firstonesexpert 2020-05-28 01:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, wouldn't you?" She's not so oblivious that she doesn't see that there's some kind of meaning there, but she's not good at people - she can't quite tell what. "I always make my robots really smart, so they're capable of forming their own opinions of people, and so far they've all wanted to be my friends." The Impidimp climbs out of her hair then, and Entrapta takes it in both hands like a doll. "I like to think that's a good thing."
fearinahandfulof: (Battle lull)

[personal profile] fearinahandfulof 2020-05-28 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"If someone makes you to be a weapon, they're usually more interested in making sure you can do what they want you do, and nothing more." She hesitates, then adds, "That's been my experience, anyway."
firstonesexpert: (just talkin)

[personal profile] firstonesexpert 2020-05-28 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well they're dumb," she says promptly. "And wrong. If you have the ability to make something like that, why not put that sort of scientific drive towards something that could help people? Or help you better understand the make-up of your planet?"
fearinahandfulof: (Fringe)

[personal profile] fearinahandfulof 2020-05-28 02:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Because they didn't care about that. Not really. I'm not sure what they did care about, but it wasn't that, and it wasn't us."
