[Please let it not be what he thinks it is. Please. Not that he's in the best position to talk, considering what he ate during his very week, but still.]
I'd not recommend eating wild plants without washing them, unless you've absolutely no other option. You never know what kind of Poison-type attack might have been used in the vicinity.
[Hopefully, this first step away from the weed-eating is sufficiently logical and harmless to be accepted.]

...I had considered the possibility of small bugs - [no not bug types, those are cheating] - and dirt covering the plants, but the use of poison.... That is something I had not thought of.
[And he puts the dandelion down. His Tepig looks more relieved than words can describe.]
How deeply does this poison sink...? I would think down to the soul, but this place is... strange.
no subject
That greatly depends on the moves involved. Poison Powder would be easy enough to wash away, at long as you do not mistake it for mere pollen, but sludge attacks tend to stick to the roots. We can at least assume that the local soil has not been contaminated by a Grimer; otherwise, there'd be no dandelions to be found at all.
[He'd take his Roselia out and ask her to pantomime a more detailed explanation, but for some reason he feels that admitting he trains an amateur poisoner would be a terrible idea right now. Thankfully, he has other options up his sleeve. Or, well, in his bag.]
If you've no food supplies, I can give you a Blissey egg. It makes for a very plain meal by itself, but it should be more nutritious than anything that could be foraged on this route and poison-free.
[That's even better than sugar-free!]

[The people of this place are so - frustrating. He's not treated as he feels he should be. Nothing makes sense. He just...]
[...Dimitri isn't sure what he wants.]
[But he can at least focus on the things in front of him, and right now that's Cecil. At the offer, he once again looks awkward.]
...What do you wish in return for it?
no subject
[Even if it was not, Dimitri doesn't look like he'd have much to offer, but Cecil would rather swallow his tongue than say that out loud.
As he speaks, he starts shuffling through his bag and takes out Noelle the Blissey's pokéball. Instead of throwing it, he gently sends it rolling to the side, ensuring that Dimitri won't have to deal with a Blissey suddenly popping up in his personal space.]
However, I'd also accept proper introductions, if you are willing. My name is Cecil Harvey, and this is Noelle.
[Smiling, the Blissey waves.]

I am Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd... and this is Dean.
[Newly named, despite them having traveled together for some time... but listen.]
I.... Thank you. Food is not something easy to give away...
no subject
[He goes right back to looking through his bag, while Noelle takes out the egg resting in her pouch and proudly presents it to the duo. See, doesn't it look fresh and tasty, a supreme egg among eggs?
Still, it is a simple, lonely raw egg, which might be why Cecil triumphantly pulls out a slightly battered frying pan. No need to risk salmonella today.]
Fear not; even without it, I have plenty of jerky and dried fruits for the rest of my trip. Would you like some for the road?
no subject
...I must repay you.
no subject
[If only Cecil knew he's asking for the impossible! Yet he does not so he merely grabs a few sticks of wood before stopping, a slight frown on his face.]
Ah, but perhaps Dean would be willing to help me start the fire? Noelle knows Flamethrower and Fire Blast, but... As far as I'm concerned, a campfire is better for cooking than a bonfire.
[Noelle nods sadly at that.]
no subject
[Dimitri perks up, however, at the offer of starting a fire. He can do that! Well, Dean can do that... but Dean is an extension of his soul, or a representation, or a mirror, or some such thing, so... same thing.]
[Yes, this is Dimitri's working theory on what on earth has happened to him.]
That should be... something we can do. And I will help with gathering firewood.
[If he had an axe, or a lance, this would be easier... but he can work with this.]
no subject
...Maybe it would be best not to expose him to that particular theory.]
Excellent! It'd be much easier if we could cut down a few branches ourselves, but with all the fighting that takes place on every route, there should be some dry wood to be found.
[He almost hands the pan over to Noelle, but thinks better of it and leaves on top of his bag instead. The few sticks he already has are set aside in a separate pile.]
no subject
[Setting down his own bag, rather light for the time being, Dimitri stirs a bit.]
....I could break some down.
[That would help in the payback, right?]
no subject
You could? Have you brought a Fighting-type along, or have you trained as a monk?
[Because people who punch other people are obviously called monks. No chance of confusion there!]
no subject
I.... know some training in breaking things.
[His school was in a church, that's kind of like being a monk, right-]
no subject
Even in a situation where we are not allowed to wield weapons? That's truly impressive. I've been trained with plenty of weapons myself, but punches and kicks have never come easily to me.
