I- excuse me, are you planning to just hit that creature with a rock?
[ LIKE. JUST TO CONFIRM, HERE. ]
1/3 rosalyn you don't deserve this
2/3
3/3

Dare I ask what possible series of events led to this decision? Or would that cut too much into your "hitting bees with rocks" time?
no subject
[Because that is not a bee!!! He knows what bees look like!!!]
[And also knows what it looks like when he's stepping forward with the rock raised again, and the Nidoran at his feet bounds alongside him excitedly. Apparently SOMEONE thinks this is a good idea.]
[But this is why we don't listen to poison rabbit-pigs.]
no subject
But what did the wasp do? Isn't the general goal here to let the Pokemon sort things out between themselves?
no subject
[The Beedrill's response is to jab a stinger in the air warningly. DO NOT TEST HER.]
[
They've been testing her.]It started the conflict. I am finishing it. I see no reason why one should withdraw if they have the ability to attack.

[ Okay ya heckin werewolf she's gonna just sort of. Rub at her temples. ]
Do you at least intend to catch it afterwards? Train it, or... something? Because if you're planning to just clobber the poor thing, it usually stops being self-defense when you give chase.

[Dimitri pauses, eyeing the Beedrill.]
...It is usually foolishness to turn one's back on an enemy as well.
no subject
Yes, but isn't the ultimate way to defeat an enemy to, you know, make them your friend?
[ the color-coded main cast of plucky elf teens is rubbing off on her, oh stars ]
I've yet to find a truly malicious creature in this realm.
1/3 i think
[Rosalyn's words get a peculiar stare, for a brief second. It's not quite the stare of the wild mess that had stumbled out from the brush. Rather, it's a stare of... almost confusion, and disorientation.]
[He doubts she could have meant it - but his thoughts inevitably, always, go to Garreg Mach.]
[They go to Edelgard.]
2/3
[He thinks of them as young adults, students instead of leaders, a distance of ice and steel stretched between them that he did not know how to properly traverse, not on his own. Yet, sometimes, it felt as though it could be, especially when he made the distance through other people, whether at their side or as their opposition. Going shoulder to shoulder against bandits, playfully ribbing one another about who would take Gronder Field...]
3/3 This Is Fine
[He thinks, inevitably, of Remire.]
[Scratching at the inside of his skull, he can hear Glenn's voice, a permanent death rattle still demanding vengeance. He can hear his stepmother, scolding him for being so weak as to die. They are ghosts, and he is now a ghost, but he can find no escape from them, give them no freedom, and - and - ]
[The change in him is sharp and quick, a skittish confused creature snapping into something all teeth and anger. Dimitri clenches the rock tighter in his hand and whirls around at the Beedrill once again.]
The ultimate way to defeat an enemy is removing their head from their shoulders.
[The Nidoran seems to sense that something has changed, pausing in his excited hop-stomping to look up at his trainer. Yet knowing something is different isn't the same as knowing what to do about it.]
[Fortunately, this is about the time that the Tepig gets free of his bushy hell, and hastily chases after their trainer. Clearly words aren't going to work here, so he does the only thing a panicking starter can do: ]
[He shoots out a light smattering of Ember and lights one of Dimitri's pants legs on fire.]
no subject
but then a lot of things happen at once! the man has decided to kill the sentient bee, and his small pig has responded by setting his pants on fire.
she is equipped to deal with one of these problems? sort of?? ]
Setting that statement aside for one moment-
[ she is going to try to? kick some dirt onto his pant leg? there's no time to call up a pokemon right now!! ]
no subject
[And who are actually being pretty successful at it too, considering that blaze of fire not only redirects Dimitri's attention, but manages to alarm the Beedrill. That's a type weakness, baby.... and, as it turns out, smart Pokemon aren't into that. The Beedrill goes a little more airborn than it naturally is, zipping away before fire or angry feral fists can reach it.]
[Dimitri snarls a bit, mostly at the Beedrill leaving, before he just.... starts to take off his shirt.]
[This is an effort to help smother the fire as well, he swears, since he gets right to work helping do just that. With a combination of dirt and shirt - the new hot thing - the fire is eventually extinguished.]
[Dimitri doesn't seem particularly happy but he did start this encounter by trying to fight a giant wasp, so-]
