Oh-- don't bother them, okay?
[ The Luvdisc pays her no mind and kind of butts against the fish. Awful. ]
no subject
The voice tears him from his thoughts. It's a woman's voice, which means as he turns to face her, there's a fair amount of charm painted across his face.]
Oh, it is not a bother at all, lovely.
no subject
"Lovely"? Compliment? Ever seen someone lowkey short-circuit? Because that's what's going on here. Luckily--for Mira, unluckily for Sylvain--her Luvdisc decides to take action.
And water guns him, right in the face. For a moment, she's absolutely stunned into silence, but the next she puts her pokemon in its ball. She's definitely panicking now. ]
I'm really sorry about that!
no subject
He splutters, looking from woman to fish, and back again. He wipes at his face, flicks wet strands of hair from his eyes, all while he tries to process their situation.]
What -- What was that for?
no subject
[ She's absolutely extremely flustered now, and she tucks the ball away in her bag. At least with the Luvdisc put away, it won't spray a complete stranger in the face again. ]
I'm really sorry, here--
[ She pulls a towel out of her bag and offers it to him. It's the very least she could do. ]
no subject
It's -- [He towels off his hair rigorously] It's no problem. She probably just got too excited or. Something?
no subject
M-maybe so. I think she's still young, so... [ She clears her throat. ] At least she won't bother you again. I... really am sorry. Is there any way I can make it up to you?
no subject
Maybe he can work this whole thing to his advantage.]
Though I wouldn't say no to something like lunch. If you are offering.
no subject
[ ... It's pretty clear she isn't reading much into this, beyond the surface level. Besides, it's no big issue for her--she's got quite a bit of money from scrappy kids trying to fight her pets. ]
I don't mind. Though, ah... I'm not really familiar with this place, since I've just gotten here. [ And then she remembers-- ] I'm Mira, by the way.
no subject
I know of a few places, if you would like some recommendations. Any preferences, though? The lady ought to choose -- it is only polite.
no subject
Preferences... I'm not too picky, but I do like seafood.
no subject
Think I could manage that. From what I hear, we're close enough to a coastal city that it might actually be decent.
no subject
[ ... There's something about the way her eyes light up... Truthfully, she's always lived by the ocean, so it's a comfort to know she's not far from it.
Count her in, then. ]
Then... lead the way?
no subject
Just need directions -- still not totally used to this place.
[He finds what he's looking for rather quickly, or at least he thinks he does. The summary of the restaurant says it mentions seafood, at least. It'll probably work.]
Alright, right this way, then.
[At least he doesn't try to reach for her hand, or wrap an arm around her waist. Small miracles.]
no subject
She nods, then looks to the fountain. ]
Oh-- ... That's your fish, isn't it?
[ Is he just going to leave the little fella there? It's a fountain, so maybe it'd be fine, but.... ]
no subject
Sylvain turns around, scratching at the back of his neck sheepishly. He does his best to feign some crippling embarrassment, pointedly avoiding the woman's eyes as he backtracks toward the fountain and holds his ball out for the Feebas.
An accident, nothing more. Look at how charming and endearing he is!]
It looks like I just keep getting embarrassed, huh?
no subject
Maybe... or maybe it's just a "forgetting something that's brand new" type of thing?
[ ... Nevermind that it would be pretty sus if someone forgot their pet but like. It's fine. Besides, he got blasted in the face, she's not gonna drag him any more. ]
no subject
Yeah, yeah, that's exactly it! I don't think I have ever had a pet. Not used to having to keep up with thme.
no subject
[ Unless there are fish that have sprouted legs here-- oh, that's a horrifying image. No, thank you! Anyway-- ]
Now that you've got your fish secured, shall we?
no subject
[He glances at his 'Gear again to make sure he has the right way marked, and then heads off again.]
So. Given your nervousness, I would say you haven't been here long, right?
