So, where is this place, and how do I go home?

2. Cherrygrove City

[As much as he would like to go home, one thing that isn't bothering Bakura is the fact that his starter is a ghost Pokémon. Specifically it's a Galarian Yamask, which is currently floating along behind him as he wanders the town.]

At least you're not the worst ghost I've ever met. [Then again, it's not hard to be better than the spirit of the Millennium Ring.]

[Ah... she notices the face fall at least.]

If it helps, it took a short time before my friends from home responded to my making a similar broadcast. [She doesn't want to give false hope, but it's not an unreasonable thing to expect either.] I wish you the best in finding them.

[Aaaand not wanting to be left out, a tiny white fox pokes her head into the frame and gives a soft bark. Hello, friend~]

I used to be, actually, but right now I'm actually along one of the routes. My partner suggested I look around, so we're exploring a bit nearby.

[ She smiles shyly, but her usual timidness is quickly replaced as she looks at the Impidimp. ]

[ She's not entirely confident, but then she'd always been a glass half-full kind of person, so it could be possible. ] Right...thank you.

[ And she'd normally leave it at that, if not for the adorable little fox that pops into view. Immediately her face brightens again. ]

Oh my goodness! How cute! Is that your partner Pokémon?

You didn't catch any of them, and they're still just hanging out around you?

[ A few more of the Pokémon peek out curiously, and she gently coaxes them out from hiding. ]

I just…talk with them. And listen to what they have to say.

My second one yes, he's just as playful as my first one, bit of a pattern. Here...

[Letting out his other friend, Zorua, who giggles up at Fluttershy. Wagging her tail and begin to play tag with Impidimp right away. Seems the two love each others company.]

They're quite wonderful, am glad they're mine.

[ Her smile widens when the Zorua appears. ]

Mmhm, it seems you can capture more in this world as your journey goes. Soon you'll have more than one too.

[Gestures to the others she made friends with while his pokemon try to entice the others to play with them.]

Very soon, I imagine.

[ She nods. ] Oh yes…I did hear about being able to capture more. It…doesn’t sound very nice, but as long as they’re okay with it I guess it’s fine.

[ She wishes there was a better word than capture, though. ]

[Curiously looks toward her at that remark. It was quite endearing to see such a young lady care about creatures like these so. He gave a small smile.]

Well, considering they like the idea of battling each other too, I guess they are pretty relaxed to most things. But I am glad they feel compelled to please for their partner. It shows the respect is earned back, if you think about it.

Ahh, I see. I can certainly sympathize with that lass, I hardly wanted anythin' to do with the public until I had to. Why, these days I still tend to prefer being by myself, short of the presence of family that is.

Allegra would be your Pokemon there, then?

I'm not sure if it gets worse, but I think it's supposed to get easier? At least, the Centers have warps between cities so you don't have to walk everywhere as much.

Where are you? The longest walk I've seen so far is the week between Cherrygrove and Violet, but I've heard some places take longer to get to. [Hopefully Kaiba's not too far from a town?]

I'm on the other half of the continent, apparently. Viridian Forest. It's been a few days. Not that we're lost, or anything.

Much easier with a motorcycle. I'd even settle for a bike.

I can imagine it would be easier. [Apparently it's just normal to walk long distances between towns here. Unfortunate, but what can you do if there's no other option?]

How big is the forest? [If he's been in there for a few days, then it has to be decently big.]

I suppose that's true too. [ To be honest, she didn't very much like the idea of battling, but she also can't fault them really if it's something that the Pokémon themselves enjoy. ] And from what I've heard, this place seems to make that battling as safe as possible.
