[[OOC - Since I'm hoping to have Gongenzaka in on the next app round, I'm setting these threads up with the assumption of them actually happening! ...Maybe. Maybe...]]

[ECRUTEAK CITY]

[Ah, Ecruteak. It's November, which means it is cold, cold, and even colder, and yet Gongenzaka stubbornly remains in what amounts to his school uniform from home. Travelling light isn't something that's an issue for him apparently, even if he's travelling light in a place where foraging for food could well end in a strange and unfortunate berry experience.

Ecruteak however, is a breath of fresh air- the best kind of air as well, even if it's relatively foggy here in the crisp late autumn air. With the restoration efforts still on, it's been a boon, even; helping out in exchange for the bare minimum of some food and sleep is quite fine by him!

What isn't fine-]

Mawwwwwile!

[Gongenzaka grips the mawile by the narrow 'ponytail' connection between 'mouth' and 'body', holding the thing high.]

Do not think I could not see what you were doing, [he warns, the mawile scowling and crossing her arms.] I, the man Gongenzaka, shall not be encouraging your motives..!

[It's a bit hard to see what the motives even were; he was right on top of that thing's plans apparently.]

[BELL TOWER]

[And speaking of part time jobs.

Gongenzaka has since managed to get mawile back in her pokeball for now, and is instead helping to do some more work at the Bell Tower alongside something else. It seems to be a far more helpful sort, which is no doubt strange to anyone familiar with the species.]

The trick, [He is explaining,] Is not to focus upon speed- one must apply the correct amount of force to the cloth when pushing, and moving too quickly will see that only dust is left behind. Understand?

[The zigzagoon chitters in agreement, only to shoot off along the floor as Gongenzaka sighs.

One of the monks seems to be nodding in understanding, while another tuts about young pokemon and young people being too much alike- causing the poor teen to choke.] G-OH! I-

I, the man Gongenzaka, am 14!!

[The monks are just staring now.]

[The screen opens on a white haired teen with a very nervous look on his face as he looks around the area.

(Apparently New Bark Town, based on the background.)]

So, where is this place, and how do I go home?

[He has not been having a good time before coming here...]

2. Cherrygrove City

[As much as he would like to go home, one thing that isn't bothering Ryou is the fact that his starter is a ghost Pokémon. Specifically it's a Galarian Yamask, which is currently floating along behind him as he wanders the town.]

At least you're not the worst ghost I've ever met. [Then again, it's not hard to be better than the spirit of the Millennium Ring.]

[i] help, i've been isekai'd

[ for the most part, he thought he would live a calm, quiet life, just like any other person he met. but then linne came into his life, and he had said "it can't get any weirder than this".

hyde kido really wishes he had kept his mouth shut.

now he's got a weird dog-like animal by his side who won't leave him alone after someone who called herself 'mom' dumped him out on her doorstep. he could only half-heartedly glare at the door as he leaves, realizing that she did at least give him some things to start off the journey. so he's poking around the bag, seeing what's inside. ]

Now where's the map...? Surely there's one here somewhere.

[ii] exploring the burned tower

Did someone let Carmine free...? [ a beat. ] You know what, I shouldn't say that. I don't even want to think about the implications.

[ he knows he shouldn't be going into a building that could collapse on him at any moment. but having the pokemon by his side made it a lot more easier to explore, insulator or not. he just knew that taking it easy would be key. but the lull of neat treasure being hidden behind a layer of soot was too exciting to ignore. well, if he was isekai'd, might as well enjoy it, right?

so deeper he goes. do you stop a slightly reckless teenager with a wooden sword and an absol at his side? ]

Guys, guys guys guys, check this out! Scrubbrush learned a new trick! Move. Thing.

[There’s a brief glimpse of Cal’s brightly grinning visage before the camera spins, showing a Zigzagoon sitting upright and vibrating in place. It’s not clear which is actually more excited here, the trainer or the Pokémon.]

You ready buddy?

[The tiny Pokémon bounces a little in place, spinning in a circle like a furry dervish.]

Are you? You good? You wanna show everyone?

[What is onscreen is no longer a Pokémon; it's small jittery, swirling ball of fluff and enthusiasm.]

GO DO THE THING!

[The Zigzagoon immediately shoots off, the Gear's camera barely following, and slams full-force into the trunk of a nearby tree. The wood visibly rattles as Scrubrush hops back, shaking itself slightly before turning back to the camera for praise.]

[Behold, a successful Headbutt attack.]

Good boy! You did so good-

[Cal fumbles behind the camera for a second, producing a small berry that the Zigzagoon devours with the same gusto it used to slam itself bodily into the tree.]

I'm- I'm so proud of him, guys.

[She is audibly tearing up and sniffly, even off screen.]

[Behind Scrubbrush, a stunned Heracross falls from the shaken tree as the video cuts.]

[Cal squints up at the rough stone walls of the ruins’ interior, shining a flashlight across the carved Unown glyphs arranged above her.]

“Escape”...

[She frowns, chewing at her lower lip. There’s a long moment of silence as she considers the runes’ message.]

Well that’s just dumb, I wanna get further in, not out. Stupid reverse psychology mindgames, I’m not falling for that more than three times.

[The video turns on to Zack, standing a bit in front, the man grinning brightly. Behind him is the sight of Mt. Mortar, an early morning sky and sunrise frames both, and clouds of warm breath puff up, visible even at a distance.]

Hey everyone. I was planning to take some time to fully explore every inch of this mountain. I wanted to see if anyone else wanted to look around.

I figure, since I am fairly experienced with mountain environments and have a good team with me, we could offer good protection for anyone who wants to go, but not alone.

[Behind him a Bewear moves into the shot, carrying what may be a fully uprooted tree, before tossing it on top of a pile of logs.]

We'll take care of the firewood.

While the farm normally could use more than one farm hand for setting out hay bails in the morning, but this morning they had one who seemed to be doing all the work in the same amount of time. Zack found it invigorating to carry the hay out into the field, very used to heavy work daily.

"Behind you with a bail." He said, noticing someone in the path he was taking over the edge of the two bails he was holding onto with ease.

( there's some muffled noises, cloth brushing against a different cloth, an inhale of breath before the gear is held out properly, showing a young girl with blonde hair, pink tips and equally pink eyes. though she's smiling, she's a little pale and glancing around nervously now and then. behind her, a shelled minior drifts about in the background. some might recognize the buildings behind her as new bark town. )

Heyyyy, I'm sure this comes up a lot, but, uh. Whaaaat is happening? Because this isn't my home. And that definitely was not my mom. --And, more importantly, does this town seriously not have any shops...?

( because it's definitely the middle of december, and all she's got is a sweater. )

( admittedly, when she eventually got to the next town, she immediately had to go to a clinic because it turns out that even with the boost that being isekai'd gives your health, she's still particularly vulnerable and susceptible to illness, especially when dropped into things in the middle of winter with nothing more than shorts, skirts and sweaters.

but we're not focusing on that. instead, walking into your local starlybucks competitor, a mom and pop cafe, you'll find saki at the counter with a bright smile. )

[ maybe you’ve run right into a heist. in the dead of night and when most are asleep, a team rocket member can be found making the preparations to either herd pokémon placed in the day care, or maybe just straight up snatching pokéballs from someone’s house. the one who’s doing it wears a domino mask, cherry hair bunned up tight beneath a hat— and if she’s caught, well. she doesn’t look too alarmed. in fact, she just . . . keeps on loading her shit. ]

It’s rude to stalk a lady, you know— at this hour, no less.
