[She gleefully claps her hands together, then resumes posing, as if it isn't patently absurd to compare this man and this ridiculous fluffy pink girl like half his size in this way.] Though certainly the moon places utmost trust in Her great apostle, the road is long and treacherous—and though I gladly, easily would travel it alone in Her holy name, how fortuitous that I have just as well been sent a brother-in-arms, even given a blessed companion of his own!

[gesturing DRAMATICALLY to the nidoran—wait hold on back up is she just DECIDING he's coming with her now???????]

And what am I to call my partner of lunar justice in this strange new land?

[One can almost HEAR the record scratch going off as Duke's sunglasses start to slip, though he's quick to adjust them back up. And... Is he being conscripted by this kid? Really? Really? After this funky magenta rabbit-lizard-thing decided it was tagging along with him, though, this seems a little...more normal?

Maybe that's just how shit works here, fuck, he don't know.

Duke clears his throat.] I don't know nothin' about fightin' in the name of the moon, little lady, but. I'm Duke Nukem.

[...and not opposing the 'partner' designation, so far. Maybe he's just worried about what sort of trouble this kid might get into on her own in this weird place.]

Duke Nukem! It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Behold! [POSE] For you stand in the presence of the heaven's ambassador, the arbiter of Her Lunar Grace's most sacred of duties, sworn defender of all those swathed in Her great embrace of the night! Come to this plane under its selfsame moon to protect it and its people in Her holy name—'tis I! Lucille Lucasta!

and then she dramatically swoops up her Cleffa, who makes a gleeful little noise]

And at her side and performing great valiance in Her name, Her Lady Artemis Andromedalia, First and Final of Her Name!

[Another little noise from Cleffa. She seems to be saying hello.]

[Dear god in heaven, he's never going to let anybody give him guff for being too showboaty ever again. Or...give anyone else any, for that matter, because he's pretty sure it's physically impossible to go any harder than this girl has. Even if this sounds like some jacked-up renn faire stuff, Duke's gotta admire the dedication to it. Enough that he even cracks a grin.]

Oh, so real truth-and-justice-y sorts, huh? I can work with that. ...I think, [Duke's caught off-guard by the Cleffa's noises and appearance, but in favor of not stressing on how much it looks like a living plush toy, he looks down at the Nidoran he's holding.] ...guess I oughta give the lil' guy a name, huh.

Your divine compatriot goes yet anonymous?! No, such a thing shall never do! A name is far too sacred of a thing for one so precious to go without. [For someone who named her Cleffa, uh, that bullshit, she is SERIOUS AS A GRAVE right now.] But! [POSE, she's still posing, god help us] That is not to say the matter ought be rushed! No, this creature is to be among your sworn allies in our [OUR?] divine mission; a name which suits its splendor is a necessity.

Divine? [Duke takes the Nidoran in both hands, right under its forelegs, clearly squinting at the thing behind his shades while he mumbles to himself.]

I don't know if you can call a purple bastard spawn of a hedgehog and a rabbit divine...

[He scrunches his face up, at least thankfully putting actual effort into discerning a suitable name for his new partner. It's a strenuous process, but The Duke doesn't back down from any challenge...!

Finally, he speaks up.]

How about...Petunia?

[Lucille watches in an absolute reverent silence that contains an intensity rightfully comparable to all of her dramatics as Duke mulls over the name. Having put down dear Artemis et cetera so she can pose without flinging the Cleffa around, he's got her fists balled in front of her and there is a fire in her eyes like nothing else. This brilliant moment of quiet lasts right up until the name is spoken, at which point Lucille throws her arms up and whoops.]

Petunia! [Artemis also throws up her stupid nubby little limbs and makes a cheerful noise.] A glorious name for a creature most deserving! A name to be hallowed across this earth forevermore, for today marks the first of a sprawling legend of unmatched splendor!

At least she likes it. Duke is absolutely terrified to find out how Lucille would react if she hated it. All this fervor, turned in the other direction...? He'll take his chances with more aliens.

That said, Petunia also seems to be pleased with it, to a much lesser degree. The only other chill being around, it seems. Maybe Artemis, but she seems like an enabler...]

Don't jump the gun, there, Lucy. Legends are made, not born. I don't doubt Petunia's got potential if he was drawn to me, but it's still gotta be put to the test.

[okay so Lulu has absolutely no idea what a gun is but that's, like, tertiary at BEST right now, and she tut-tuts with a drama one would never think a tut-tut capable of having, had they not been dealing with Lulu for the past like five minutes.]

How quick you are to lose your faith! However, I can hold no fault against you, as this is our first meeting upon this tangible plane, bringing corporeality to that fate which was writ in the constellations above all this time.
