Why him? He didn't do anything but...well. Stay after hours. Surely he's not the first child to have done this? Surely...
Gregory huffs, leaning back a little against the tree he feels pretty confident is hiding him from the main route. Even if Roxy came down the same way he went (which is very likely, she's probably not even that far from him since they both arrived almost in tandem), she wouldn't be able to spot him. Now, hearing is a different story...
But it's fine. If she's having to use the Gear, she's not in physical earshot. It's fine.]
A surprise, right. You mean how you're probably gonna make me "disappear", just like how all those other kids went missing...

[the missing kids...she's heard about it. she may be stuck on the grounds of the Pizzaplex, but outside information comes through well enough. not that it's her concern to listen or care, because it doesn't have anything to do with her.
but...by the sound of his voice. he's being accusatory. it makes her feel angry, offended, and:]
You don't think that low of me-- [her voice goes whiny, like a kicked puppy.] You can't think that! You don't...you don't...
no subject
He feels a rush of anger as she whines at him, glad that- at the very least- he doesn't have to look at her mangled form.]
I wouldn't if you gave me any reason not to. Do you think I like being chased around and threatened? It might be a game to you, but it's not to me. I just...
[His expression softens a bit as he sighs, glancing sideways at his Teddiursa.]
You could have helped me, you know. She's just using you, all of you!

[and with a flip of a switch she's back to her usual overconfident self. oozing certainty and assuredness. whatever was happening with her and her friends at the Pizzaplex doesn't seem to be registering with her, either from selective memory or the fact that the way things went that night...were purely the fault of this kid.
as for the taunts? well, that's just him being a sore loser. kid needs to grow tougher skin if he's so upset about it.]
Why would I waste my time helping a kid who snuck in after closing hours? It's not my job. With you gone, things would've gone back to normal.
We could have all had a nice night if it weren't for you.

Even Freddy, to an extent.
In a way, Roxy has a point. Nothing probably would have happened like this that night if Gregory hadn't been there...but how do you explain to a machine that he had nowhere to go? How do you even begin to explain that?]
I didn't sneak in. I was...already there.

look. she's programmed for her bark to be worse than her bite. it's not her fault that her bite has the potential to be just as bad. so whatever it was that was driving her to hunt and kill back at the Pizzaplex is gone out of her mind, and now it's more that her urge to hunt down and find this kid is...
well, revenge. kid took her eyes. her special eyes. does she want to kill Gregory in the figurative sense? yes. but literally? well, not intentionally.]
If you were already there then why didn't you just leave like everyone else who was "already there"?
What, didn't have any friends reminding you it's time to go home? Hah.
HER SPECIAL EYES!!
It all leads from the animatronics back to Vanessa. To Vanny. Even if Gregory hasn't completely figured out why yet.]
Why should you care why I didn't leave? Maybe your fancy Pizzaplex needs better security if you can't even catch one kid.
HER BRAND!!
kid's gonna lie just to make himself sound good. hah, she knows better than to trust what he says.]
I care because your running around cut into my me time. I don't get that during work hours!
[me time consisting of recharging, staring at herself in the mirror, brushing her hair, keeping her body in working order, more staring at herself, talking to herself...
you know, a good use of her time!]
Maybe your fancy life outside needs some parents so you'd have someone else to annoy after work.
[nyeh nyeh nyeh!]

On the other, he's starting to realize he'd really rather she stopped talking. She keeps managing to stumble into comebacks that kindof dig deeper than she realizes, but it's his own fault for baiting them out. He could just turn the gear off and stop talking to her, but he's afraid that if he loses her she could come up on him out of nowhere at any moment. In fact, she might be closer to his hiding place than she realizes...
How good is her hearing now as a human, anyway?]
Not like it matters now. We're prolly miles away from the Pizzaplex.
[And here he thought that'd mean he'd be safe but NOPE.]
