[ If nothing else, the attachment that these things have to their owners is obvious. It's kind of heartwarming, in a way. Or perhaps Rose is just enamored because she's never been able to have anything close to a pet or companion like this in her long life. ]

Honestly? No idea. Eat snow, from what I've seen. And that's, uh. That's about it. [ He has spikes along part of his body made of ice and shielding the otherwise squish. ] I guess he could poke someone real hard?

[All Mikasa knew had been chickens, now she had a load of animals with weird powers. And tech things like computers. So much learning... It was a lot for a girl who'd never been school before.]

He eats snow..? [Not that she seemed like she wanted an answer. Her shoulders slumped for a moment, then she looked up.] The pokemon near New Bark Town are pretty weak... So you don't need one to fight them?

[She'd not saying Rose should go punch a rat. But Mikasa would 100% punt that rat into submission.]

[ Rose hasn't either but she does have the advantage of 30 or so years of trying to blend into modern human society. She likes to think she's got it pretty locked down by now. ]

He does! It's kind of adorable. He just, like, goes ham on it. And anything, really. He's got a big appetite for such a little dude.

[ Rose is, unfortunately, a pacifist. ... But that is an amusing mental image, if nothing else. Huh. ]

We'll see. I'd like more little friends, but I also don't want Snom to get hurt so I'm sure I'll figure something out.

[So many years, then there was Mikasa. Calling people who were twenty old. Not that she was thinking of age at the moment. More, weird snow caterpillers. Uh-huh....

Just going to give a little slow nod.]

I caught my first pokemon by giving them berries. He followed me back after. [There was a huff, the girl shuffling as she shoved the armored pokemon off a bit. Grabbing her bag and letting out the other big, cuddly boy. And-

Goodbye, because Mikasa is just being aggressively nuzzled and pushed around. It's fine, this is normal.]

[ Rose is old at three-hundred and thirty-eight, give or take, but try telling her that. ]

Oh, word? That's a thing you can do, okay, good to know. I'm not sure I can go the pacifist route entirely but... It'd be cool if I could.

[ As the other girl is nuzzled into submission, Rose can't help but laugh lightly. ] Seems like your little guys really like you, huh?

[What word? She tilted her head but didn't ask, focusing on the parts she did get.]

I only got a few pokemon that way. I got one by throwing a rock at it. I broke it. [He'd just sat there, dazed and confused. Turned out, Woopers were just like That. Even so, Mikasa couldn't just release him, he seemed too... Too something to live out in the wild. At least he DIDN'T TRY TO SIT ON HER. She's just going to give each of the pokemon a shove of the snout. Back up.]

I don't know why... One of my other ones always hides.

[ Yeah, that's... Honestly, it's for the best. Rose is going to have to get used to people not understanding her all that well here sooner rather than later though. ]

Well, at least you took responsibility? You break it, you buy it. Or, uh, train it. I guess! [ That doesn't seem like a very fair comparison, honestly, but it's the best that came to the top of her head. ]

Maybe it's shy? My Little Guy here can be, too. He warms up alright but so far hasn't been, like, super overly friendly.

[One day, Mikasa will know enough slang to give Armin a heart attack. For now she was happily oblivious.]

I'd feel bad putting it back to die. [Ah, children. So blunt. Because she really didn't think that wooper would do well, even if others had assured that was just how they were.

But she nodded, moving on to the other pokemon.]

That's what my friend said. It keeps crying, but it doesn't run from me now. [So that was good?]

[ Very blunt, indeed... Rose couldn't say either way, really, but her Pokemon seem to be happy with her. Rough starts notwithstanding. ]

It's... progress! I'm sure it'll come around eventually, yeah? I'm surprised Little Guy warmed up to me as fast as he did. [ Ha. 'Warmed up.' ]

I hope so, she's really cute. [And Mikasa really needed a fire type, even if her one didn't seem like she'd be much of a fighter. But vulpix was really fluffy.]

My first pokemon listened to me right away, most of the time... She used to run off the fight. [That had gotten better since she'd evolved though.]

[ Getting a Pokemon for it's fluff content is entirely valid and, really, a method that Rose might pick up herself eventually. ]

Yeah, he seems pretty attached already. Maybe. I don't know, it's a little hard to tell because he's, uh, a bug. But! I imagine that the fact he hasn't abandoned me yet is a good thing.

That's good. Some people have a lot of trouble and get attacked by them... [She'd seen it a few times on the network. People having issues with being bitten or scratched at by their new pokemon. Though the most damage she'd ever taken had been from belly flops.]

[ Haha. Ha. That's not concerning at all.

Hm. ]

Well, let's hope I don't have that problem. I like to think I'm decent with animals and all so, uh, Pokemon shouldn't be much different. Right?

I thought that... [It was a lot easier when she thought that way.] But pokemon get all glowy and grow up.

[She paused, her hands up in a gesture of size.] My cat was half this big- [Yes, you. The luxio got some headpats.] He'll double again when he grows more.

[ All... glowy. Grow up? Huh. Rose listens as she explains, glancing to her Snom. Would Little Guy turn into something else? Part of her almost doesn't want him to because, man, he's adorable. ]

Huh. Well, still going to give it my best. All I can do, really. Thanks for the advice, kid.

[Mikasa didn't smile, but she puffed up at the praise. Then promptly got cut off as the Luxio and Null started wiggling again, knocking the gear over and switching it off.]
