[Felix blinks and immediately stops playing, looking up at whoever this is interrupting him. The cat stops singing to look up at Rose, too.]

Pipes? She's a cat.

[He almost tells the woman to go away and stop bothering him, but then he notices the instrument she's carrying and changes his mind.]

Not long. Six months, perhaps. I--

[Aaaand then she's sitting down. He doesn't say anything about that, but he does move over a little, slightly away from her, just to make a point. The Liepard yawns, as though this exchange bores her to tears.]

And you?

[He nods toward the guitar case on her back.]

[ Right, she thinks, people here don't always get what she's speaking of. That's fine! It's fine. She'll lament the uselessness of her immense knowledge of pop culture and slang later. ]

Six months? I'd have guessed longer. [ Granted, she doesn't know if he's a quick study or not. He could be. At the nod towards her own instrument, she grins and unhooks it from her person to take out. Inside the case are pictures taped to the top but she closes it before he can get a good look at them.

Little Guy roams over her shoulder and down along her arm. He's careful not to poke with his ice spikes, which she appreciates. ]

I've been playing since I can remember, really. Over a decade, easily. I can play the piano and violin too. But my real strength is singing.

There's no need to butter me up.

[Felix notices the photos, but he has no desire to pry into what they are. It does, however, give him the idea to do the same in his own guitar case, perhaps. Maybe.

He glances at the Snom and gives it a nod of greeting; the Tsareena waves to it, the Delcatty gives it a smile, and the Liepard pretends she doesn't even notice him. ...look, she was Felix's starter, she was bound to end up with a bit of an attitude problem.

He perks up when she mentions singing.]

Oh? What kind of singing?

[ It's not a bad idea to have a little personal touch. Rose just knows she won't go anywhere without her guitar and its case; it seemed the most obvious choice to keep those memories safe. ]

All kinds! Rock'n'Roll is where I got started but now I can singe just about any genre. I'm not, like, the best at Opera but... I'm still decent.

[Felix looks a little disappointed that opera isn't her thing, but he nods in recognition - he knows what rock and roll is thanks to Greg.]

I don't recognize you from the network. Did you arrive recently? I know quite a few musicians here. I'm certain any of them would be glad to perform with you.

Ah, yeah- That obvious, huh? [ She tries to adjust and blend in where she can. Of course, she imagines people here might be pretty close-knit so... Naturally, newcomers stick out a bit. Hm. ]

That's cool of you though. I'm more of a solo act these days but, hey, I'll never say no to a jam session or two.

Not really. It's more that no one ever shuts up on the network, so I inevitably end up seeing everyone whether I want to or not.

[Felix's brows lift. Fortunately, he doesn't have to ask what fruit preserves have to do with anything, because he knows the slang word 'jam' thanks to Greg, too.]

These days? Then you used to perform with others. Why did you stop?

[ Well, he won't have to worry about her being all over the network at least. She plans to use it as little as possible. This is more how she likes to meet people, honestly. On the road, unexpected... It always makes things interesting. ]

Ran into some tough times. Ended up having to go into another line of work to make ends meet and put down music.
