[Tooru'd almost given up hope with not seeing anyone else from home aside from Yachi, so it took him a few takes after coming out of the Burned Tower while hunting for a new teammate. The large Luxray next to him nudges Tooru out of his shock as he scratches the head before he suddenly just bolts over and jumps on Iwaizumi from behind with a hug.

He can't help it, that's his best friend. The Luxray also bounds up and stops just short of tackling as well.]

IWA-CHAN!! I can't believe you're here!

[THAT gets a reaction from the Luxray of the same name, head tilting in confusion. Tooru didn't think that one through after all.]

[Iwaizumi had just been minding his own business. He'd stubbornly bullied his way through this far and now... now he was at a loss.

He stood with arms folded and a frown upon his face, something he'd been wearing a lot since arriving in this weird place. He knew noone. Everyone was weird. The place was weird. He had a weird bug friend who lived in a ball and was bigger than she had any right to be... BUT... as weird as it was it was slowly growing on him. Like a toe fungus. Or something.

And speaking of toe fungus...]

The hell...?

[The weight of a whole ass person was suddenly on his back. If that hadn't told him who it was, the name yelled into his ear sure did. So of course, knowing who it was, instinct kicked in.

Iwaizumi grabbed one of the arms of the person hanging onto his back and with a shift of his weight and a tug, he pulled Oikawa over his shoulder and tossed him forward and to the ground.]

Dumbass! What're you trying to pull jumping on me like that?

[No hello. No where have you been, how are you or other pleasantries. Just throwing his team captain over his shoulder like it was a normal Tuesday afternoon and Oikawa had pissed him off again.]

[Tooru should have expected to get met with violence, he was convinced that some days Iwaizumi just woke up and chose violence when it came to him specifically, but truth be told that's just one part of their friendship and he knows he's not going to be seriously hurt even as he finds himself flung over like it was just another normal day at practice while being a thorn in his vice-captain's side.

And of course, per the usual, Tooru just glares and huffs like a child as if he'd done nothing wrong in practically attacking the other boy.]

Well hello to you too, jerk. Just beat me up the minute I say hello, ugh rude. Rude Iwa-chan, you're rude and a brute! It's not like I haven't seen you in months, not at all, noooo.

[And right on cue of Tooru pitching a fit, the Luxray smacks him with the tip of his tail, causing Tooru to whine.]

And so are you, you take after my Iwa-chan too.

What kind of dumbass jumps on someone's back, Dumbass?

[Wait, he's used 'dumbass' three times now. He needed something else. Though maybe he could make it a record and cuss him out just using 'dumbass' in a variety of ways? Iwaizumi was just about to launch into doing just that when a pokemon he'd never seen before showed up and hit Oikawa.

There was a moment where he near barked at the thing. Who gave it permission to hit Oikawa? But before he could the dumbass opened his mouth again. Iwaizumi raised a brow, he didn't look impressed.]

Your 'Iwa-chan'? In your dreams. [And his nightmares.] Now get up. You're making the ground look dirty.

Well I GUESS it's me, if you really had to ask that. Did being rude make you lose some of the smarts you had left?

[If there was a record of how many times Iwaizumi could insult him in one sitting, Tooru'd lost count because it just wasn't worth the effort to keep that up.

But before he can make another smart remark, her gets a tail to the back of his head again and stops. He'd become convinced that Iwaizumi had teleported to this world with him in the form of a Shinx with how similar the two were, but that appears not the case, only being too similar. Even in name.]

I had to specify, okay?

[He jabs his thumb back into the leg of the blue and black cat, who gives a non-threatening warning glare at Tooru.]

You two have the same name. Now help me up since you threw me down.

Being rude doesn't take much effort when it's for you.

[He tossed the line back offhandedly, mainly because he was now focused on the creature at Oikawa's side and the comment that accompanied him. "Had to specify"...]

You named one of these things after me? The hell kinda messed up logic is that?

[Iwaizumi glared, but he stepped over anyway and held out a hand to grab Oikawa's and haul him up to his feet.]

Change the name. It's creepy. Or I'm gonna find the ugliest thing I can find and name it after you. [A pause, and a smirk.] In fact nah, keep the name. I'm going to do that anyway. There's some kind of sludge pokemon out there, right, Crappykawa?

Gee, I feel the love here.. jerk.

[He's pouting, but also laughing, just happy to actually see Iwaizumi again.

Meanwhile, the Luxray sits and eyes his trainer's friend closely, making sure he's not a threat to Tooru while Tooru pulls himself up and dusts himself off and crosses his arms and puffs up like a qwilfish while laughing.]

You'll have to take the name change up with him, not me. Not like I can't just call you Iwaizumi... [He trails off and makes a face at using the surname, shaking his head.] No nevermind, you're both Iwa-chan. Zumi isn't as cute, not like how it sounds with Makki.

[He's just going to ignore the sludge comment, only to not throw a fit and get smacked by two Iwa-chans.]

So how lost did you get?

[A brow rose at the use of his name. It sounded weird coming from Oikawa. He was so used to hearing 'Iwa-chan' that anything else just sounded alien and weird. Then he sighed. Arguing over the name wouldn't get them anywhere. But Oikawa better remember who came first! The Pokémon was a shadow of the real Iwa-chan.]

I'm here, aren't I? I'm as lost as you can get. Don't even know how I got here... Or why I have her.

[And this is where Iwaizumi points out he has his own Pokémon. The large, fluffy bug was resting at the bottom of a tree just watching everything happening without doing much at all. She never did. She would just sit and look cute. The Larvesta shuffled forward on her little legs when she was finally addressed.]

Her name's Taiyō.

Yeah you're here and you could be a little happier about it, now that I actually found you.

[Because of course he'd make that about himself to rile Iwaizumi up, but also have the added hidden meaning of "I missed you, I'm glad you're here too" attached to it without even needing to be said with them.

But his attention immediately goes to the strangely adorable bug that's shuffling forward.]

Taiyō? What a cute name for her. You got a bug, seems fitting for you since you used to catch them when we were kids.

[As happy as he was to see Oikawa, a welcomed and familiar face in a sea of strangeness, he wasn't really happy to be away from home. But all things considered, he really was happy to see Oikawa. Even if he was being a brat.

He glanced down at Taiyō, who had stopped beside him.]

A lot bigger than the bugs I used to catch. More fiery too.

[As he'd learned the hard way from the couple singed fingers he now sported, and the little white bandaged that wrapped them.]

[Tooru gave a bright smile, knowing that Iwaizumi's just a bit conflicted about their being there without others from home with them, yet glad they have each other at the same time. He'd be lying if he didn't feel the same, but he's learned to adapt, just like he did back home.

The Luxray leaned over to give the bug a sniff, but kept enough distance from those spines.]

All the bugs here are bigger, a lot bigger, than the ones back home. Also, guess what? Dunno if you've seen any pics but Taiyō will become even bigger. She'll be like Mothra!

[Tooru grabs out the pokegear and does a quick search and pulls up a pic of a huge moth.]

See, Mothra!

[Somehow... that smile actually made things not so bad. Iwaizumi even felt himself relaxing somewhat and responding with a small smile of his own.

At the question he shook his head and took a step closer to see the picture Oikawa brought up.]

Huh, she's gonna look like that?

[Iwaizumi looked at his Taiyō and then back at the picture then nodded. He liked it. And yes, she would look just like Mothra.]

Guess I picked good then. How do you even know all these things?

[That smile is something Tooru definitely missed, but he won't admit that to his best friend, not without teasing him and he's not in the mood to get thrown on the ground again or swatted at.

Instead he nods, enthusiastically, same smile plastered on his face.]

Yep! Like that. Taiyō-chan will get really pretty, and strong too.

[Tooru shakes the pokegear at Iwaizumi's question. He doesn't know everything, but he knows how to use the internet to search things or watch stupid videos of Pokémon being ridiculous.]

This thing, it's called a PokéGear. Weren't you given one or did you not bother to listen to the weird lady calling herself mom?

Soon as she called herself my 'mom' I tuned her out.

[He shrugged and replied honestly. He'd half listened to what the woman had said but had just walked out after he'd realised it made no sense. It was only later that he'd realised he probably should have listened... but was too stubborn to go back and see if the NPC would reset and tell go back to telling him what was up.]

Leaned as I went along. Or when someone stopped to talk to me. Like you.

[He shifted an arm to nudge Oikawa's, since he was obviously 'someone'.]

[There's a classic Tooru smirk as he rolls his eyes at being told he tuned the woman out, not surprised at all but amused.]

Yeah if she was your mom she would have loved me the second I woke up, or told you what was going on and to go find me!

[He gasps dramatically at the nudge, hand on his chest and everything with the smirk staying after the fake dramatic are done.]

I'm only "somebody" now? Wow Iwa-chan, do you really think so low of your best friend?! How could you! Mean!

But that's good you learned on the way, it's a weird place.
