Luisa Madrigal | Encanto
[ The image that is seen when the feed turns on is dark at first, as if something is covering the camera, but a voice is immediately picked up. ]
...that weird woman who is definitely not my mother, thank you very much. Oh wait-
[ Whatever is covering the camera is removed, and light flares for a moment before it focuses again on a young woman peering...way too close into it. ]
I think I got it working? This thing is so weird... Hello? Can anyone hear me? That, uh...that woman back in town said I can talk to people on this thing?
I'm looking for my family, the Madrigals. Has anyone seen them?
[ Because she isn't sure they'd know to check...whatever this thing is either. ]
B. Cherrygrove City
...Wow.
[ Luisa had never seen the ocean before. She'd read a little bit about it, but it was so different from actually standing where the water met the shore, the waves swirling around her bare feet. The printed words in a book couldn't quite capture the magic of the experience.
And while she absolutely loved the view of the Encanto, and wouldn't trade it for anything, the beach held a very different kind of beauty.
She still definitely wanted to go home. But...a part of her also wanted to see what else is out here. ]
C. Ruins of Alph
[ Somehow, Luisa had gotten separated from the rest of the tourist group. Part of her was a little worried about getting lost, but she was also enjoying getting to explore the ruins at her own pace.
Still, as she and her Larvitar were walking past some of the statues in the chamber, she couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched.
She was probably just imagining it, but...it was also a little creepy. ]

Luisa!
[Mirabel's voice can be heard, but she can't be seen. That's because there's a sheep currently gnawing at the Pokegear.]
Can I have that back please? Luisa, can you hear me??
no subject
[ Oh thank goodness. She peers into the strange device, trying to locate where her sister is at. ]
I can hear you. Where are you?
no subject
Not too far from the town I woke up in? Did you meet that weird woman who wanted to be called "mom" too?
no subject
I don't think I'm that far out of that town either. Stay put, I'll look for you.
no subject
[She had tried to argue with the woman, but it got her nowhere. Eventually she just left out of frustration.]
Okay, I'll stay here and wait for you.
no subject
After a bit of backtracking, she eventually spots a flash of a familiar colorful skirt. ]
Mirabel?
no subject
That’s not a food! You really will eat anything won’t you? Oh-!
[She looks up. Big sis!]
Luisa, there you are!
no subject
Which...it probably still hurts, but Mirabel might notice that it's not quite as strong as it could be. ]
You okay?
no subject
Yep. I'm fine! Luisa, do you know what's going on?
no subject
Not a clue! I just woke up in that house with the weird lady calling herself mom, and she was saying something about going on a journey and "pokey"-mon? [ Bending down, she scoops up the Larvitar by her feet and holds it up for Mirabel to see. ] And I've got this thing following me around everywhere.
[ The Larvitar gives a sound of protest, not liking being called a "thing". ]

B
[That sure is a super tall man with an obviously alive sword hanging out on his back standing nearby and watching the water. Specifically the very large creature that just surfaced with a spray of mist.]
All the nature here is a treasure.
no subject
Still, she feels a little better with the Larvitar on her shoulder. ]
It really is. The lands around my town were beautiful too, but I've never seen anything like this view before.
no subject
[It's less a question for the answer, and more a way to start conversation, really. Thace follows up with a bow.]
I am Thace, and this is my partner Vrig. You can see Xhula there, enjoying a swim.
[The sword on his back levers herself up to get a better look and waves a tassel. The whale spouts again, letting out a low, booming ouuuuuuu of hello.]
The others that accompanied me on this trip are... around.
no subject
I'm Luisa. And this... [ She gestures to the Larvitar still perched on her shoulder, then pauses. ] Uh...I haven't actually given him a real name yet.
[ With finding herself in a strange world and trying to get used to...everything, she hadn't really thought about it. But she supposes she can't just keep calling him "the little guy". ]
no subject
[Thace tips his head to the side like he's listening for something.]
Athvrix will be here shortly if you'd like a translator.
no subject
His words do catch her attention, though. ] Translate? You have something that can do that?
no subject
[Something that looks like a white and gold cat walking on its hindlegs is coming into view, along with something like a very fluffy fire colored fox.]
Athvrix is a psychic type; one of their most common skills is communicating directly mind-to-mind. They often serve as assistants to those who are deaf or hard of hearing for that ability to translate. And Vonir is learning how to write.
[He gestures first to the catlike Pokemon, who'll send a 'hello' that sounds a little smug to Luisa. The other chirps a happy 'eee~~on!' and scratches a wobbly 'hi!' into the sand.
Then he exchanges a set of gestures with both of them before looking up.]
Also a form of sign language, because another of my family who is deaf didn't want to rely on a translator all the time. They are both happy to help, if you'd like it.
no subject
Wow...that's amazing. They're able to learn all that? Writing and sign language?
no subject
Vonir is the only one of my family that has shown interest in writing, but most have happily learned to read and can type given motivation, and everyone has learned sign for Acxa's sake if not mine.
[Vonir is currently bouncing around chattering happily. Asking Larvitar's opinions on his trainer and the journey ahead and if he has a name already.
Athvrix is poking around at everybody's surface thoughts, mostly just because she can.]
no subject
The Larvitar doesn't really seem too inclined to chat, but if Vonir continues trying to get answers from him he eventually does start responding. He likes his trainer well enough, and wants to be strong enough to protect her, but he doesn't have a name quite yet. ]

[Oh hey, guess who is also traversing the ruins? ... Aaand also got lost from her exploring buddy for two seconds? And when Luisa takes a pause to examine the hallway, Allura is too busy looking around to notice and ends up bumping into her wall of a back.]
Ah! Oh, I'm so sorry.
[Allura, the bump probably hurt you more than it hurt her.]
no subject
...no, that feeling is still lingering. Trying to shake it off, she shakes her head and offers a smile. ]
Oh no, that was my fault. I kind of just...stopped.
no subject
[A shake of her head.]
You're fine; I also should have watched where I was going. [It says something that her guard was dropped... she really is getting relaxed in this world.] In any case... I am Allura. Pleased to meet you?
[At her feet is a tiny white fox who gives a soft bark to Luisa's Larvitar. Friend?]
Ah, yes, and this is Coressa, my Vulpix.
no subject
[ Larvitar studies the Vulpix for a moment, and seems to be judging the fox with dark, serious eyes. Then it turns away with something of a huff, but Luisa gently nudges it with her foot. ]
Hey, be nice. [ It gives a protesting sound, and Luisa shakes her head a little. ] Sorry. He doesn't seem to really like strangers that much, but he's not so bad once you get to know him.
