It seems as though Aizen has a Cubone of his own but appearances are deceiving. In reality, Aizen's Ditto assumed such a form the instant it saw Grimmjow's companion. It is still young and inexperienced though and any seasoned trainer could spot the flatter looking facial features.

Aizen doesn't mind the cultivation process. He never has. His 'Cubone' trots forward and out of the shadows cast by several trees as he steps onto the path. He's dressed like a modern, western gentleman in a black suit with a navy blue dress shirt. And somehow, somehow shiny black shoes.

In truth, Aizen has been watching his former Sexta for a while now.

"Is that...what you think?" His words are perfectly bland and yet Aizen somehow gives off the impression that judgement has already been passed and Grimmjow's position is looking a little precarious.

Even if he hadn't been stripped down to human, he wouldn't have sensed Aizen coming, not unless Aizen wanted him to. Still, he's thought Aizen dead for well over a year, so when he hears the voice it turns his blood to ice and he freezes in place.

He shudders, like a prey animal feeling the breath of a predator on its neck, and turns his head slowly to let his eyes confirm what his ears and instincts have already told him. The fear is different in this body, with a heart to fuel it. It wasn't the fear of defeat, it was... deeper. Wider. Obnoxiously expansive.

He clenches his jaw, pulls on a facade of arrogance. "I heard Kurosaki kicked your ass," he replies, slowly getting to his feet and glowering at Aizen and his... weird little hollow. "These more of your experiments?"

And there it is: proof that even returned to human form Hollow are still beings ruled by fear. Although, in this case it is warranted.

"Kurosaki Ichigo is interesting, isn't he? Unlike with so many others, the time and effort I put into him was not wasted." Aizen's expression doesn't change from his usual slightly smug mask. His pokemon sticks close to him and when they both stop it cocks its head to the side a bit.

"Cubone?"

Aizen gives it a glance and it seems to take this as encouragement to run over to the Caterpie itself. There is a moment's hesitation and then instead of hitting it or anything aggressive, Ditto transforms into a Caterpie.

Aizen's doesn't say anything about this or answer the question. After all, why should he give out such direct answers when it's so much more interesting to leave people guessing?
