[Oh wait hug time, he laughs as the hug catches him by surprise, returning the gesture warmly. Adamas's tinkling echos in the room, the little Carbink very intrigued at this new person their person is interacting with.]

Ah - not long, really? A few weeks - when did you...?

[songofthedawn]

[G'rhyf laughs and presses their forehead to his for a moment, then pulls back to speak properly. Their hands fall to catch his and hold them, not wanting to let go entirely just yet.]

Perhaps a few more days before that. We must have just missed each other until now, somehow. [Letting out a soft breath, they smile warmly.] I hope you don't think me selfish for being relieved you're here as well?

[Dhaval the Ralts, meanwhile, hurries to catch up with his trainer and grabs onto their pant leg, looking up at both G'raha and Adamas shyly.]

[HANDS....hold hands.........]

That's not selfish at all. I...it is an incredible relief to see a familiar face. [And a beloved one at that, but, uh, gosh that's coming right out the gate very strong, he...this is a lot at once!] What have you been up to, then? I would gladly hear of all of it.

[Somewhere, Alisae has the sudden urge to loudly complain of a toothache--]

All of it? [They beam, a teasing glint in their eye before they settle to recall everything properly.] Well, first I was tossed out of that poor mother's house, and then I ran into a lovely old woman that invited me to sit and tell a few stories for a while. She actually gave me one of her little cats...a Skitty! That's the name of it. From there I got right out onto the road, though I had a bit of trouble in my foraging the second day out...

[Yes, they are going to go over every minor detail if he doesn't stop them, why do you ask?]

Of course! [When would he not mean all of it? G'raha listens attentively, nodding at the parts that are familiar to him, not making an effort to stop G'rhyf in the least. He likes all your words, WoL-kun.]

Ah, the beginning was a bit difficult for me as well. We rationed what we had, of course, but to say I didn't treat myself to a proper meal when I reached the next bit of civilization would be a lie.

["Proper", he says, like he didn't slap half his money down on provisions AND the most filling meal he could find. He was hungry!!!!]

[They laugh and nod--oh, they can imagine!]

Oh, I absolutely did the same! I do have a bit more experience at making meals on my own, but--ah, well. You didn't run afoul of any of those particularly odd berries, did you?

No...? No, I did find berries, but...Adamas spirited them off before I could even contemplate taking a bite. I think he ate them all himself.

[Carbink is genderless but maybe this Carbink said hey I'm going to pick my gender]

That might be for the best...seems many varieties that Pokemon enjoy have some nasty side-effects for us. I was aching for hours after just a few bites!

G'raha's face immediately does a shift to concern] Wh- gods, are you alright? Are all berries in this world poisonous to people?

[songofthedawn]

I'm fine, truly! It was nothing deadly, just extremely uncomfortable. [Rub rub rub of their thumbs over his knuckles--everything's okay!] And it's not every berry, thankfully! The ones that Pokemon prefer are fairly distinctive in appearance, and only a few that really resemble anything we're used to.

If you're certain...

[He still looks like he's having a concern! This is his very dear friend, okay, he doesn't want them to be sick! Especially from a mistaken berry identity problem. That just wouldn't be okay!]

I suppose I ought to thank my new friend for sparing me from a similar fate.
