[Julian visibly flinched at the sound of a voice addressing him out of nowhere but raised a thumbs up after a moment. Eventually, he rolled over onto his back, careful not to smoosh his Charmander.]

I think the only thing I wounded was my pride. You saw all that, huh?

[The only time doing something ridiculously embarrassing was okay was when there was no one else to witness it. And even then it was still embarrassing.

He was blushing, and he would've wished for the ground to swallow him up but he'd been there and done that when it came to near-death situations.]

I think this place is haunted.

[Rolling on his back? Right in front of someone he doesn't know? How has this kid survived so long?]

You were making a lot of noise. It was hard to miss.

[Only slightly reproachful; after all, not everyone is trained to be alert to their surroundings the way Mando is. He offers the kid a hand to get up.]

Ghosts aren't real.

Yeah.

[He usually did make a lot of noise. Being quiet wasn't one of his specialties.

He snorted but still accepted the help up.]

Ghosts are totally real, dude.

[Was he allowed to say that he knew because he'd been one for a while? He knew back home that was probably something to keep quiet about, but this wasn't home.]

[Mando just sighs and shakes his head. Ghosts...]

Were you here looking for one?

[If they were real, Mando guesses they'd hang out in a place like this.]

Not exactly?

[He glanced around quickly to make sure there wasn't anything spooky sneaking up on him.]

I was just looking around, in general, and then weird stuff started happening. Like, my lil guy started staring at nothing like cats do sometimes.

[And cats could definitely see ghosts, he knew that for a fact.]

And then the radio turned itself on.

Sounds like a glitch.

[Mando isn't going to address the comment about cats, because he doesn't really know cats that well. Being a bounty hunter isn't good for feline companionship.]

Mine has been acting normal.

[Mando's Axew, Mudhorn, waves from behind Mando's shin. Hello, new friend!]

I've heard there are interesting Pokemon around here, though. That could be what you noticed.

Mmmmmaybe? It's an awful well-timed glitch though if it is one.

[Well-timed enough to make him suspicious.

His Charmander gave a cheerful Chaaaar and Julian smiled, for a moment forgetting that he was worried about ghosts. It seemed like the littler a pokemon was, the cuter it was. That included Axew, too.]

You think so? I know there's Ghost-type Pokemon, but they aren't all really ghosts...right?

Right.

[Said with all the confidence of someone who has no idea but is pretty sure that's how it works.]

[Regardless, now that they agree on something, Mando starts scanning the area for Pokemon. Mudhorn crouches and starts looking around too, being Very Serious about this.]

Between the four of us, we can catch one.
