Radley was walking by the tower with his Eevee when he saw the kid. Radley had started to make it a goal to find other displaced people, hoping that together they could find a way home. Thinking this might be one of them, he walked over. "Hey," he greeted. "Bad day?"

"Eevee?" said his Eevee.

[sonrise]

Varian looked up at the stranger with a strained smile. "I mean... Not the best one," he admitted. As he spoke, he leaned over, a hand going out towards Eevee for the Pokemon to sniff at, if it so chose.

The Eevee leaned over, sniffed, and licked his hand.

Radley chuckled and petted her. "That's rough," he said as he sobered. "It seems like there's a lot to get used to around here. I'm Radley. I'm new in these parts."

[sonrise]

That got Varian to truly smile, and he lightly tapped the Eevee's nose in response to that lick.

"My name's Varian. I didn't get here long ago, either... This place definitely isn't like anything I've ever seen or heard of before."

[crystalmaster]

Radley smiled, happy that Eevee could cheer him up.

"Funny thing is, I've heard of this place, but I didn't know it was real," Radley said. "Where are you from? I'm from Satisfaction Town. It's a small Western town in the United States of America."

[sonrise]

Varian looked up at Radley with a start, eyes wide. "You'd heard of this place before? Huh... Interesting."

Coming from a small kingdom in the later part of the 1700s, Varian hasn't heard about the United States, much less the Pokemon world. "I'm from the kingdom of Corona, although I grew up in a nearby village." He shrugged. "I mean, Old Corona was still part of that kingdom."

"Yeah, it's like a kids' story where I'm from," Radley said. "They have games and books and shows about it."

He nodded slowly in response to Varian's explanation. "Ah, cool. Well ... what's this place?" He looked up at the tower. "I haven't been there yet."

[sonrise]

Varian glanced behind him, then looked back to Radley. "Oh, that's Sprout Tower. The monks are in charge of upkeep, and I... Well, I don't know why it sways like that. I mean, the natives claim the whole structure is built around a giant Bellsprout, but obviously--" He scoffed with a smirk. "--that's impossible. I mean, if a Pokemon - a plant Pokemon that needs sunlight to live, at that! - was incased in the central beam of that building... Well, let's face it, it would've died pretty quickly. So, you know, it probably wouldn't be moving much by now."

[crystalmaster]

"Wow, that is pretty out there," Radley said. "I wonder how a legend like that started."
