While I do agree that the world here feels marginally different from the one I came from, I do not suspect that there is something in the air that is helping you sleep. Perhaps it is simply the change in location that has aided your nightmares? What, if any, are your findings on the subject?

... while my current situation is certainly less... [He puts his fingers up into air quotations] "High Pressure" than back home, if that was all it took to solve my problem, I certainly would have managed it in the last ten or so years. Though let's see...
[He's mumbling, half to himself, half to Layton as he pulls up a piece of paper, writing out his thoughts.] My sleep routine has mildly changed. I'm certainly getting more time for it, even if I don't actually spend that time sleeping. My stressors haven't decreased though - I'm still incredibly concerned with how my Boss is going to take my prolonged absence. [He pauses to shudder, before shaking it off rather literally with a wince.] Ah -- sorry. Other than that, the only other difference I can think of is that this one has a habit of escaping during the night. [He gives a more affectionate, deep scritching to the Munna.] Meaning I'm woken by them fairly often once they get bored of... whatever it is they get up to, and come to nudge me at odd hours in the morning.

... Dr. Flug, have you perhaps looked at your Pokédex lately?

[The professor cocks a brow, watching as Dr. Flug attempts to piece his life together live on camera.]
When you are solving a puzzle, you need all of the pieces. If I have my pieces, and you have yours... if we only kept to what we had, we would never solve the puzzle. And if we merely attempted to create our own pieces to make up for what we were lacking, it wouldn't be the original solution, now would it?

... I. Suppose that makes sense... [He'll need a few days to process that with his ego.] But sometimes, is it not its own reward to make your own solutions?? Something different, pieced together by what you've made??

[He adjusts the hat on his head before crossing his arms in front of his chest.] Just because I have flour, egg, and sugar, does not mean that I have a cake. With those ingredients I could easily make a sweet bread, or perhaps a very strange omelette, but without a recipe or other ingredients I would be very much cakeless. And wouldn't you like to have your cake and eat it, too?

I thought the saying was precisely that you can't do that, Professor. But you've made your point for now. I do think theres value in discussions like this with my fellow scientific peers. At the end of the day, however, sometimes the only thing you can judge yourself on is what you've earned with your own merits!

What of the Pokédex entry, Doctor? Or shall I read it out for you?
