[ Roughing it. Roughing it was something that Minfilia was more then used to - even if she had gotten more used to not doing such in recent moons.

Yet, she had taken time to get her bearings. It was not that she was unconcerned with how she woke up - oh, she was quite concerned. But there was no sense panicking. She could not see danger right now, nor could she feel the gentle warnings of her abilities screaming that she had to move.

No, things had been okay, as she had set up camp across the first 'route', as they called it. Tarp strung so she could sit up, she had finally set up a video feed.

How amazing! That such things could be seemingly common-place here! That people could see and speak to each other. (She would need to learn more about it, before she was fully comfortable with everything that it involved.)

To those watching the video feed, however, it seemed nearly professional. The young woman sat, her Audino fussing around and foraging - there were still trees and grass and so very much around. ]

Hello - I do not know if anybody is listening, but I believe they should be? [ A pause. On one hand, she had to assess her situation - were others here? Was her first impression misguided. On the other, she had a deep burning question, one that she felt she should have answered as soon as possible. She was clearly not the first who'd arrived here - and perhaps others had wondered the same thing. ]

I must say... the creatures of this land seem to be quite intelligent. [ Spoken, even. ] Rose - my Audino - seems to understand all that I ask of her. [ Not simply understand, but... there was no sense explaining her abilities. ] And yet, she is expected to remain inside these small orbs.

Am I right to think that this is normal in this land?

[ Her next actions depend on what the answer is. The video ends, with her smiling - a hand over her breast.

However, notably, she does not give her name. Did it slip her mind? Or is she keeping it to herself, in order to be careful? ]

[ Now, Minfilia had not met G'raha Tia. Nor did she quite recognize him, at first. But she did know of that Miqo'te who loved Allag - Krile had talked about her dear friend quite a bit.

But hearing her name in this strange place? That caught her attention. Her smile faltered for a moment, caught off-guard. ]

[Gods, Krile too - Krile had known her. How could he have...well, maybe the shock has tripped him up a bit. It isn't everyday a woman long since gone returns hale and whole to a world of the living.]

G'raha Tia, at your service. [He even bows a little bit, or as much as one can tell via video.] I am - I have heard much and more of your deeds, but I never entertained the idea that I would have the chance to speak with you. So, erm, forgive me if I am a bit...

[ Oh! Her lips curve into a smile. ] The Miqo'te who had an obsession with Allag, if I recall what I've heard - I believe we have a mutual friend. [ Even if, hm. He looks a little... different then she expected? Still, there's something bothering her. There's many things bothering her, actually, but she can shrug them off and carry those questions for later. ]

Pray do not get too worried about talking with me, G'raha. We are both sensible people, I assume?

We do! Yes, we do - though Krile is not here at present, in this world. But I am sure she would be overjoyed to see you if she was.

[It might be the lack of ears. Is it the lack of the Miqo'te ears? Hyur ears are just so different, it changes the entire look of a person.]

Ah - yes, of course. Sensible. Absolutely.

[Godsdammit, try not to vibrate visibly, G'raha]

Then it is common for those of our star to appear here?

[ Yes, that is it, but she doesn't want to bring it up. Perhaps she had misheard? Then again, the stories did involve some embarrassing Miqo'te behavior oh, Krile.

And she has noticed the vibrating. Perhaps... perhaps when she has more of a handle on things, she will ask. Is he okay. Does he need to take a deep breath. ]

I couldn't say whether it is common or uncommon, but it has been happening as of late.

[He pauses to muse on that. Was there a pattern? Emet-Selch and his...party, they've been here for some time, as he was told. Estinien as well, though he left and returned. But now there's a burst of people coming in.]

I suppose...if there is any pattern, it is that we are all, in some way, connected to the Warrior of Light.

[ Her eyes closed. A smile crossed her lips. ] I always knew they would be important. But that bond connecting us strangers?

Truly, it's something to be admired.

Well, they do seem to find a way to befriend many and more along their path.

[He's just happy that theirs crossed with his.]

If not for that, I doubt that they would have been scouted... I am so glad of such, every day.

Pardon me. But Krile led me to believe you were a Miqo'te.

[He pauses, smiling sheepishly as a hand goes to his head. Gods, his ears, he misses his proper ears.]

I am. And I like to think I am, still. But in this world, it seems, all who come here are made to look as Hyur do, though for what reason or how I cannot say.

Yeah, these creatures really are intelligent. I don't keep mine in the orbs at all. I just don't feel right about it, even though it's supposedly comfortable for them. It is pretty normal here to have them in there. The creatures are collectively called Pokemon, but there are almost 900 species of them! The orbs are called Pokeballs.

Nine hundred...? [ And yet, Hyur seemed to be the ones who were most common. She dismisses her thoughts, and nodded. ] I imagine we are expected to see them all, at the very least.

But I am glad to know that I'm not the only one who feels strange keeping them inside their Pokeballs. I can see how it could be useful if they required mass transport...

That's possible. Well, I'm happy to see them, although some of them aren't so friendly and I'd rather not see them close up!

Yeah, transport or safety are the only reasons why I might put them in there.

Oh? Of course some are less then friendly. Monsters and tribes both have reasons to be territorial, in general...

I suppose if Rose gets tired, I shall ask her if she wishes to rest within.

That's a good point. I always kinda wonder why it's more often with some species than others. My Eevees, for instance, don't seem too worried about territory.

That sounds like a good rule of thumb.

What do Eevee look like, if I may ask? But if they have had bad experiences, they may also be afraid. And with their special abilities, they can protect themselves.

[Radley smiles as he moves the camera to where Evie and Evan are sitting. They beam at the camera, wagging their tails.]

They do have different personalities; Evan is more aloof because he was hurt when I found him.

[Anger fills his voice.]

He wasn't able to use his abilities because he'd been boxed in.

[He smiles again a bit.]

I'm glad he hasn't been afraid of me.

How cruel. [ Her voice drips with a barely-restrained anger. ] They're quite adorable, though! They remind me of... well, little foxes.

--Ah, I don't think I got your name.

[crystalmaster]

It really was.

[Radley also sounds furious. He can't think about it without getting angry all over again.

He smiles.]

They sure are. And they act like a cross between cats and dogs.

Oh! I'm Radley.

I'm definitely amazed by how tame a lot of the Pokemon are. I'm glad Eevees are among those kind.

[It was hard enough to come to a new place, and it would have been harder if he had ended up with a Pokemon that was stubborn and hard to train.]
