There are simply too many unpleasant associations with the city, and it was already coming in with a disadvantage because of the ghost type gym that makes its home here. Even nice Valentines dates with his loves could not really help Dimitri override that negativity.
Still, sometimes, there are things that cannot be helped, and one of those is that Ecruteak is one of the best places where one can go get clothing traditional to this land and its neighbor. At least, in the Johto area, although Dimitri cannot speak for Kanto. And so he is here, hoping to get something nice for his family. Christmas may be a long ways away, but these things take a long time to prepare! Especially for the number.
So he's here with Selkie, who helps best with such matters and also cheats using her powers to get proper measurements without anyone knowing, when he decides to make a brief detour. It would be good to get some food, after all, even if he cannot truly enjoy it...
