Yeah, I'm another out of towner. I'm not sure how many of us there are altogether. I've been here about four months.

[herewardbound]

"Four months..." He glanced up at the stranger, draping his shirt over one arm. Why so many? "You seem in awfully high spirits about it. Most people would be missing friends, or family."

[crystalmaster]

[Radley sighs with a sad smile.]

Oh, I do. I just try not to show it in public. And there are good things about this place. I love my Pokemon.

[Four Eevees, a Skitty, and the Rookidee trot over to him. He starts petting them.]

I wish they could come back with me, but that isn't ever done that I know of.

[His Rookidee greets the other one, as does one of the Eevees. The others also look friendly.]

"Come back... is there a way back, that you know about?" Akechi's Rookidee seems a little rougher around the edges, perhaps even standoffish- but not necessarily unfriendly.
The little fox pokemon all but hiding behind his legs looked considerably less keen on new people, however.

Not that Akechi knew what the hell he was doing when it came to animals- but his superior had insisted that he needed them, that he'd be dead meat if he went out without them. Having seen the pair in a fight and with no Persona to aid him, he'd been forced to agree. It seemed... pointlessly cruel to keep them in the little metal balls he'd been given, though.

People disappear from here a lot, and it's generally assumed they go back. I wondered if they really do, but some go and come back here a second time. I guess they've told that they were home. I don't really know, though.

[Evie the Eevee keeps chirping, hoping to put them at ease and be friends. Evan the Eevee licks her head. Not everyone will be comfortable with it, he tries to tell her. Or want it in general.]

"I see." This was, admittedly, good information. The stranger was personable enough... and he had, at least, learned the hard way that trying to tackle shit like this on his own was a losing proposition. If people stepped between worlds all the time...

"My apologies. Here I've been asking so many questions and I haven't even asked your name." He bowed slightly. "Akechi Goro. Yourself?"

I'm Radley.

[He smiles and pets his Pokemon. Evie finally settles down and rubs his leg.]

I still haven't seen a lot of this world yet, but I decided that in an unfamiliar place I'd like to be in the hub of things. I live here now, and when my Rookidee gets bigger, maybe I'll travel a bit on her.

That... gave him pause. He hadn't had much time to do any amount of research- but travel on her?

"I'm sorry, I must have misheard. How big do they get?" Large enough for a human to ride in flight?!

[crystalmaster]

Rookidees? They can get pretty big.

[Radley types on his Gear and then shows the pictures of the other forms.]

It'll be useful, but I'll feel bad she won't be able to be in the house anymore.

[herewardbound]

That is massive. How on earth... "Metamorphosis... so this is what they meant when they said 'evolution'. I was confused about that. And I've also realized I have no way to pay for that much food. They really gave me one hell of a white elephant..."

[crystalmaster]

Yeah, pretty much.

[He winces.]

Maybe get a place to live with fruit trees and bushes or something? My property has some of that. I was getting it for my restaurant, but it'll be useful for Pokemon food too.

Akechi tried not to laugh derisively. "Get a place. You say that like it's so easy."

[crystalmaster]

Well, you'll need money, of course. It took me some time to get enough, but I found a good deal on a place that needed some care. I think prices are different depending on the area and other factors.

[herewardbound]

It was his time to gawk. "Enough to buy a house and start a business in only four months? Forgive me if I think that's either bullshit, or you've won the lottery."

[crystalmaster]

Technically, I live in the building I bought for my business, so yeah, I didn't have enough for both. And that's why I got a place needing a lot of work.

[herewardbound]

No... this didn't seem like a scam. Scams tended to promise the moon- they were designed that way, so that only the most gullible would fall for them and never ask questions. This... "Alright. I'll bite. How, exactly? Is housing here that cheap?"

[crystalmaster]

It seems like there's all prices, depending on the area, and the more work you're willing to do, the better a deal you can cut. I got my place because they needed to sell, it needed work, and I was interested. I'm hoping I'll make enough from the restaurant that I can add some more land to the place and build an actual house. I want the house on the same property so all my Pokemon can just stay there and go between the house and the restaurant when they want. Otherwise, I'm only allowed to bring six while traveling.
