[it was strange being back here after a few weeks, but after his humiliating loss in his first gym battle, it was time to re-evaluate his tactics. So he was going to start again and retrain. And where better to find that beginning than where he literally started?

[His Murkrow caws from his shoulder, and his Crovisquire, now too big to perch on him, gives a throaty craw from his side as well, as if they were both laughing at the man]

[Loki turns from is futile door quest to the source of the voice. Snorunt jumps and tries to hide behind his legs. He tries to shake the creature off, but to no avail.]

So she is known to be speak nothing but utter nonsense?

[He glares at the...weirdly large birds??]

Indeed. She made similar claims to me a month ago, and I am relatively sure we are not siblings.

[The giant birds 'laugh' again]

[He certainly looks more like Loki's sibling than Thor does.]

So you woke here as well. I am Loki, of Asgard. [Makes to move forward, but Snorunt is clinging to hard to his leg that he trips a bit. Very dignified.]

[He snorts at the fumble, but does still give a little half bow, matching the other man's state of address]

[He manages to wrench his leg out of Snorunt's grasp only to be met with a sad chittering.]

Seeing as you have been here for many weeks now, could you tell me these strange creatures are and why is this one clinging to me?

They are called 'pokemon' apparently. They seem to have a symbiotic relationship with the people here- even the wild ones are unnaturally friendly. They attach like newborn ducklings.

Interesting. [Loki bends down to pick up the Snorunt, who stops shivering as soon as it's hoisted.]

So what can you do, little one? [He doubts the beast will understand him, and is therefore surprised when it opens it's mouth to emit a gust of snowy wind. It's short, and clearly not at full power, but it still leaves ice crystals clinging to his brows.]

...I see.

[Hubert gives's a mean bark of laughter]

They are also quite intelligent, similar to humans even if they are unable to learn any human langauges.

[Loki glares at him, not very happy about the blow to his pride.]

Fantastic. I have a walking triangle that can produce a chilly breeze.

[He starts to put it back down, but as soon as Snorunt's feet touch the ground it begins shivering again.

Not that he cares. That's definitely not why he chooses to straighten back up with the creature tucked between his arms and chest.]

I'm assuming your feathered friends are also pokemon? Do they simply travel with you, or do they serve a function of some kind?

[The glare just makes him smirk more]

They are- it seems all animals here are, in fact. The people here use them for... honestly anything they can think of. Companions, protectors, workers. I am still unsure if they eat them, but I haven't seen even fish that they could use as meat sources otherwise.

[The birds laugh again but this time at him instead of Loki, and Hubert glares at them]
